This will my first time. Please don't send me off to find left handed skyhook or the like. That aside, what can I look forward to/what should I beware of?

think of an Open Sing happening in 5 rooms at once...22 hours a day, with breaks for meals...

If I can sleep with an F-14 Tomcat taking off 10 feet over my head, I can sleep thru anything

ahhh..it's not 'can', but 'should'....I guess the question is: can you stand to go to bed when 20 people are still singing?

Anyway, it's lots of people...some from far away, and conversation, and food and silliness...(but you wouldn't know anything about that!)...and ...well...a bit of fun.

You should beware of having such a wonderful, restorative weekend of song and good fellowship that your life may never be the same!

Glad you're coming!

WD, The main to thing remember is, "Introduce yourself" Just going up to folks and saying "Hi" is not just acceptable, it is "required" Wear your name badge prominently, and people will come an squint at yer chest!! but, speaking as a "foreigner" it is one of the most welcoming and friendly groups of people you would find anywhere in the Universe

WD - a group of welcoming ladies will be holding a Friday night 'party', probably hosted by Janie this year. (He he he he) I shall be wearing my Mudcat badge so come and introduce yourself and join the fun.

In the meantime have a look at threads from previous years and you can see some pics from last year at

Vergin' on what, Vince?

...But (playing the deviled avacado here), hey folks! You'll like this guy! More of a Winsome Devil, actually...(Winsome, lose some....)

And you'll like the folks there.

And there'll be quite a bunch there you already know, so you'll be no stranger (than usual). You'll be The Revised Standard Virgin in no time at all and a True believer! Glad you're coming!

Geez, Severn, you do push the envelope, don't you?

Vince, don't worry -- there will be a lot of folks you already know from open sings, and you'll fit in just fine. Glad you'll be there!

Why do my posts keep disappearing? Does no one care? SIGH

Anyway:
We have some lovely and practical birthday gifts bought at great expense from the Christmas Tree Shop. We could use a little devil to help disperse them.
And we can always use a little devil in our Saturday night silliness. How do you feel about battery operated inflatable costumes and bullwhips?
Look me up, WD.

Wincing Devil:

I take it from your post that you have a military connection. Are you still serving? I will be there. Say hello!

CET: What gave me away? Left Handed Skyhook? That's from my days as an ironworker. But yes, I was USN from 79-86 (NAVY: Never Again Volunteer Yourself)

Nah, WD-- I think it was probably this (LOL) that gave you away:
