Hi, Russ -
There's a Website called Yet Another Digital Tradition (click) that has our Digital Tradition tunes in "sheet music" and various other kinds of notation, including pennywhistle notation.

Hope that helps.

Surely, Cyndy, your question should have been "I'm are looking for the original tune that Lord of the Dance was set to, namely the Shaker tune, A Gift to be Simple".

I guess I should know this, but I don't. The pagan version referenced above, is it the older or is it a neo pagan version that took the shaker tune and wrote words that were compatible with their beliefs?

Mick

Definitely neo, I'm afraid. The original "Lord of the Dance words were written bt St Sydney Carter in the early 1960's as a "Tomorrow shall be my Dancing Day" for the times. The original words are the "Gift to be Simple" ones with the dots. I don't know any more verses to htis. Does anyone else?

Chris.

Sheet music is impossible to find for-The West coast Of Claire by Planxty. If anyone could help with this or any of Planxty's songs on tin whistle I'd "gimorously" appreciate it.
Thanks

There's a version in Dm in Andy Irivine's 'Aiming for the Heart'

Try playing along with the Planxty recording on a C whistle (f will work too). You should have it in no time at all.
