Hello, I'm a forty something single male no kids, own house and solvent. I'm widely travelled open minded and loyal. I'm easy going and am looking for a similar female friend. I sing at various
venues in Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire and
W.Mids (Devon even!)Used to ride horses and enjoy a hack or canter on Welsh Mountains. Like going out to live music venues, customcar/motorcycle
shows. Cat person although don't have one at mo
Looking for someone with similar likes, or who is willing to
partake in them, I'll do the same for yours. I would enjoy
a lazy pinic, a shared music festival, a walk in the
wilderness, if we can but share the music in our hearts,
easy going guy looking to share the world with someone
special, to walk-hand-in-hand with, someone to give surprise
treats to and cherish.... having fun and being silly is also
an option! -who says romance is dead, it's just so difficult
to find! -headgamers/bunnyboilers and tokers and anyone in a current relationship - please go bother someone else .
If you don't want to post, PM me instead (blue clicky)
If you don't like what I've posted here, you didn't have to read it

Tim Tim Tim......I have been telling friends for years, you rarely find romance by looking for it! It usually jumps up and hits you when you are least expecting it! Keep going to all the things you like and sooner or later you'll find someone in the same position as you!

Having said that...girls, he's a really lovely guy!!

Love Lynne

I believe....If you dont look you dont find. You sound a very out going sort of a guy MuddleC, and I admire you for trying to get what you want whatever it takes.
I have two kids ...one cat and love life and silliness, and especially bikes. Must admit though, I never thought of finding what I want in this way ..... Nice one man.

Thanks all for your kindness.
It's just a message in a bottle, thrown into the sea

It'll probably just drift out of sight, float around awhile, and break up on some far-flung shore anyway...

..... but maybe.............................there's a beachcomber out there

Here - take my advice - I'm not using it.

But yes - when you are not looking it can jump up and hit you. I would reckon if you are into folk, go to plenty of folk festivals (or clubs) and enjoy. Things may happen - but that is secondary. But when they do - there is a common interest.

The more you are enjoying (within reason) the more atttractive you look (IMNSHO).

In the last 15 years I introduced 3 ladies to folk and their interest in me didn't last - neither did their interest in folk! Currently I ceilidh a lot and I met my dancing partner at Cajun. I would say there is a moral there.

I was impressed some years ago by a personals ad that I read in 'Mother Earth News. It was posted by the publisher! (I sent him a note commending him for being that open and he sent back a nice note saying that he felt he might as well take advantage of a service he offered others.)

Good luck, Tim.

A story to bear in mind:

At the age of 29, I had lost interest in guys and dating. My present husband changed all that by coming to a meeting and helping me clean up after it. All the other young guys were standing around, talking to one another, and ignoring my very existence. My future husband came over, talked to me, and helped me deal with the coffee grounds.

The other guys probably left the building and started talking about how they never have any luck with chicks.

PS - I'd be interested in meeting someone to sing harmony/lead, play first guitar, maybe play flute/recorder/whistle. Alternatively folk or 60s rock or pub-blues. I have a PA rig.

Horizontality an optional extra, but if so they need to be female, well spoken (and slim, unlike me). Class not otherwise an issue.

Point made?

Big grin?

Liz you would LOVE Tim's bikes!! He sometimes drops in here for a cuppa and you can hear the cars slowing down as they go by, to look at whichever bike is parked outside!

Richard and Cluin'
We live on the thin crust of a molten planet whirling through an abyss of dark and cold so full of other galaxies that we can't count them but yet can't reach any of them. If you live on this crust, you are subject to pestilence famine and death, war is a form of light entertainment to some. In some cities you can be killed by walking down the wrong street, even for supporting the wrong team. Yet in all this there is still beauty to behold, a landscape, a painting , some particular music... but finding someone who can share that vision and trully exchange a mutual care, brings all those galaxies within reach for a time-stopping instant again and again.
The downside is giving and losing part of yourself in that search, so is it worth it?, go ask any moth round a flame, my wings are already burning

Take the advice I give male clients. Do not marry. It reduces your negotiating power.

I have to agree with you Richard (as much as I hate to admit it).

After my divorce, we still had to share the kids and 'work it out'.

I soon found that I had a lot more when I was married to him.

But then again, he didn't get to share may bed anymore, either.

None of the above should discourage anyone from seeking companionship. I still think its preferable to living alone unless you can't give up control of your schedule and your finances or you are just 'unfit' to live with. Then again, if you find love, none of that will matter anymore.

Dare to dream, Tim!

Somebody said that it couldn't be done,
But he with a chuckle replied
That "maybe it couldn't," but he would be one
Who wouldn't say so till he'd tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done, and he did it.

Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you'll never do that;
At least no one ever has done it";
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,
And the first thing we knew he'd begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done, and he did it.

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure;
There are thousands to point out to you, one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
That "cannot be done," and you'll do it.

("It couldn't be done" by Edgar Guest)

In my unfortunate experience....the women looked for the Knight in shining armour....I obliged.....after a while they told me they loved me and I was hooked! BUT!!!!!(when they found their own feet as they had been at rock bottom when they told me they loved me and now realised they didn't NEED me any more) eventually they said those fateful words "Goodbye, I don't love you any more"..........so I am left thinking "What is love really"? Beware MuddleC.....be careful friend.
Long term friendship with someone and then consider long term relationship.......that's IMHO. Best wishes, Mike.

Well Mike, I must admit, despite having the ACME piano dropped on my head (divorce over 10 years back), I have donned the armour several times and after slaying the dragon or climbing that tower, sometimes I have found myself lying there dented and bloodied , due to the hands of the 'fairer sex' I might add, and wondering if the dragon might be a safer option....!
but dragons don't come with long hair, curvy bits and eyes you can drown in.... well-err, I suppose you could always get one a wig....... non-flammable of course.... .. no, silly idea.
So friendship,
but first youse gotta winkle the lady out from where she's a-hiding

What a thread!!! Any luck with a female yet? I'd be up for it but a real gal seems to be wanted and as I'm over 10,000 miles away so I guess I'm outta the race as the distance makes me virtual. I'm looking for husbands/pals/buddies/lovers/boyfriends for a number of my (very beautiful intelligent successful, oh, just wonderful) female friends. I continually advise them against a domestic life but will they listen?? No! Romantic adventures in my opinion, are better than sharing the washing up. But hey, what do I know? I can't say I've been successful in relationships - it's all a complete mystery to me. But I do believe myself to be a good friend. What does it all mean? Are we all badly damaged cynical old gits? Is this a hookup thread? Once again, have you found the gal yet MuddleC?

10,000 miles eh... that's either somewhere the other side of York (old york that is..)or a small clump of brush near Ayers Rock Northern Territory.... ??
I had considered buying an Airstream Classic and setting up in a trailer park down Buckeye Road (a la 'Electraglide in Blue')with an old couch and piano outside, at least the motorbikes won't rust like they do here... rather like Arkansas and N.Calfornia too.
What does it all mean? hanged if I know, Hitchikers Guide to the galaxy makes most sense to me.
Are we all badly damaged cynical old gits? err,.. yes
Is this a hookup thread? is that the same as a wind-up? -no
Once again, have you found the gal yet MuddleC? Thought I did -hence the burning wings, found I was going round a lighthouse on/off/on/off..

So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done, ...................?!!!

Look here folks, I'm getting some personal stick about being nasty, vindictive or mean about certain people. If I intended to do that, I would have logged in as 'guest'. If those people think that about me, then they don't know me, and I'm sorry, I have nothing but a smile for them.

I've gone out on a limb here and although some people will be able to recognise me, most of you good people out there won't, but for those who do, please don't point and say 'j'accuse', ...as does the govt. certain information remains closed.
