Great Festival coming up.They put a lot of hard work into it which can be seen by their web site which also contains a 7 page Programme which, when printed ,comes in very handy for those who are definitely attending .Sorry I'm not clever enough to give you a clickie address but here goes anyway .
Padgett get Bowker out of his Rut !!!!!

Calm down Betsy, Booker will be severely admonished once again, he loves it!

Cant make the Bowker do anything, he knows he's welcome at Saltburn.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again

Would you like to judge Fred's Competition on Sat pm or are you compering somewhere?

I'm running my 'FOLK on the INTERNET' workshops at Saltburn once again.
I had a very good response at Saddleworth so hope that they will prove just as popular there.

Talked to John Taylor about the programme. He told me that Bernard Wrigley is replacing (the sadly missed) Old Rope String Band.

Very very sad to hear of the Old Rope String Bands tragic loss

Some much needed humour from the excellent Bernard Wrigley

Can't see any mention of No Fixed Abode, though I remember Tony and Una telling me they had been booked.

Whereabouts and when can their fans see them perform?

A bit crazy booking a great act like that and not mentioning them in the publicity. They did a fantastic set at Stainsby.

I know Nutty and Padge, but it drives me crazy when I hear of other Mud catters saying (afterwards) they were at Saltburn , how do we spot / know each other ?

Sorry Padge I'd make a terrible judge - try Geordie Keith maybe especially if you provided free beer !!!!!

It'll be easy to spot me betsy, I'll be slaving away over a hot fryer as usual!

Yes I will be at Saltburn and I'll be trying to get John Taylor to let me enter the singers and songwriters competitions on the basis that I'm keeping the festival goers fed!

Betsy I think Geordie Keith's band is booked; you would make an excellent judge !! and no b___ arguments

I could be wrong but No Fixed Abode are going I believe but I don't know whether they are 'booked' could be wrong

I think the 'Witches' are on should be a WEB SITE with programme also may be downloadable

See you all there!

Betsy - haven't you heard of the infamous Mudcat badge and Mudcat teeshirt? For only 50p for one of your own you can join the game of 'Spot the Mudcat' looking for name badges, although some prefer to remain anonymouse.

In fact you have known me for more years than either of us care to remember ;-)

Love and hugs

Hiya Tig ,
Thats the bloody trouble - I don't know. Try to explain when you see me - providing I'm compus mentus.
I only ever find out bits and bobs when I visit our friends in the Globe at Guisborough , which in addition to the Rugby Folk club, is another place I'm looking forward to having a pint and a sing.

RE Catters, I suspect John and Chris Ingram from Donnie will be there (the badge mnakers) could have some Catters badges done

Re 'No Fixed Abode' they are certainly on the programme proper, so some chnages have taken place to original 'booked' guests

Very nice guitar from Tony and lovely Irish singer Una, from somewhere near Mansfield I think!!

They came to Barnsley a short while ago, Easter singaround I think lot gone on!!

Two lasses seek B & B in Saltburn Friday & Sat, unable to camp this year. Every place that ever did accomodation has ceased to do so. Tourist info can offer nice gaff at £90 per night - little on the expensive side. Anybody know anywhere that tourist info don't know about.

For anyone wanting a respite from the festival, in a good old faisoned back street pub - we have a Mudcat signing in book at The Globe (watering hole) Guisborough. TS14 6JP.

All will be made welcome, we keep a good pint of Cameron's Ruby Red Strongarm. There may be some Tiger left, If not it's Mansfield Dark Cask Ale.

We may make the Friday night, not sure about the rest of the weekend as we have a party booked on the Saturday and a Christening on the Sunday.

Betsy, old friend, we will see you at some point, no doubt.

Gillie

Could try somewhere in Marske, perhaps or one or two of the festival venues like the Spa, but may be quite full

One or two Hotels used as festival venues, may know somewhere

Have you tried phoning Tourist information or Emailing them as they suggest?

For anyone who hasn't got their Mudcat badge and wants one (or hasn't caught up with how to get one) there are two ways to get one for Saltburn.

PM me with your Mudcat name etc and we will bring it with us

or Send a SAE to John Ingram (or The Badger)
                7 Quarry Road
                Norton
                Doncaster
                DN6 9HS
along with 50p for each badge you need - some Catters have found they lose theirs so order 2!

I know a certain Mick Gardiner ( a big fan and singer of his songs ) who will be looking forward to seeing Bernie Parry as indeed will myself and I expect will Vin G., but it's so many years since I've seen him so Padge you might need to re-introduce me .
Good singer and songwriter - why do some " make it " and some don't on the circuit. It is strange Eh ?
Midday in Azerbaijan as I write - am I looking forward to next week ?? You better believe it !!!
