Hiya all - Looking a bit flaky for me to spend the full weekend. Still hope to see you all on the Saturday but don't book me any breakies or buffys. May not have the cave either but rather just stop until early evening with a good canine friend of ours;-)

Cheers

Bill's right about badges - but you'll do far better PMing me as The Badger is dreadful about checking his messages!!

Alternately you can contact us at tig@rincewynds.freeserve.co.uk as I check it most days.

Jane, I'll almost certainly need feeding please.

Looking forward to the weekend.

Glad to see Mudcat back up so I could check this thread once more before I leave. Jane, I doubt I'll need Saturday breakfast, but will definitely want dinner. If Gaile comes with, that'll make two. I'll be out of touch after tomorrow morning, but I'm definitely still planning on the gathering!

Have fun at the gathering, I won't be coming as it's the same weekend as the Beltaine Bash at Conway Hall. On Saturday morning I shall be painted green with flowers in my hair and madly whirling poi (?) about! Go on ...admit it...that's got you thinking hasn't it?

Re tent or van

If I can get there I shall be coming with the quickest erection in Yorkshire. Which usualy remains erect all night and the next day as well! Sometimes I have been know to keep it up all week! It can with stand the force of the wind which last year I though was the Horse that was stabled at the Jug! But if fact turned out to be a mudcatter in the next tent! It's too big to go inside the car so I have to tow it behind the car. It's not a van but it has carpets cutains and a settee! What is it? You'll just have to come to Holmfirth FF this weekend to find out.

And so to food!!
Wendy is willing to put on full English on Saturday morning for those that want. Sunday morning will be bacon butties only up until about 9.30 as she has to get ready for the Sunday lunches (which some of you may be interested in!) On Saturday evening there will be a buffet before the evening session (around 6ish) The cost for this has yet to be fixed but I would not expect it to be unreasonable and hope that everyone will be happy with that. As everyone arrives at different times we felt it easier to leave Friday night open as far as food goes. The pub does a good selection of meals so you could eat there or there are one or two take away places within a few miles. The curried twiglets are also rather good!!!!

Mr Happy - The area around Selby is pretty flat and a lot of it is under cultivation, so there isn't much walking in the imediate vicinity. That said, the George & Dragon keeps a collection of booklets with circular walks around bits of Yorkshire. Some of these are not too far from where we will be based. As you head towards Leeds the countryside becomes lumpier but more rolling than hilly.
As mentioned, we will not be far from the M62 (about 30/40 minutes drive will get you to places such as Hebden Bridge where there are REAL hills. If you take the A1 North you can get then cut across to the Yorkshire Dales. There is some good hill walking at places such as Kettlewell in Upper Wharfedale.
Camping facilities will be basic as we are not on official campsites, it is just land belonging to farmers near to the pub.
If you need to discuss anything in greater detail, send me a MudcatMail Personal Message, and I can give you a phone number.
Quack!
Geoff.

Nice to see you at the Moor and Coast Mrs Duck! Have the ducklins forgiven me yet! I'll try and make it to the gathering if I have my voice back. Keeping quiet now until Holmfirth Folk Festival next weekend! Still I won't have to sing as loud there.
