No, not Jimmy.

While having lunch in a restaurant this week we heard a really neat CD playing. It was all instrumental with excellent musicianship and fabulous arrangements of a wiiiiide variety of songs. In the space of a few minutes we heard God Bless America, Soldier's Joy, Battle Hymn of the Republic, This Land is Your Land, Liberty, Sally Ann, and Shenandoah.

Since the owners are friends of ours, we asked about the CD and were told it is called America the Beautiful. The musicians are listed as follows: Guitars, Dobro, Mandolin, Autoharp - Jim Hendricks; Hammered Dulcimer - Jim Miller/Scott Miller; String Bass - Bob Burns; Fiddle - David Russel; Harmonica - Mike Duchette.

When we asked where we could buy the CD we were directed to an antique store. We didn't know CDs were antiques yet but we went there anyway and discovered a little display near the cash register which had about 6 or 8 CDs, all by the same group. Other titles include Home on the Range, Rocky Top:Country Sampler and two other Rocky Tops. The recording was done in Nashville.

Does anyone know anything about these guys? We never heard of them.

Bev and Jerry

Thanks.

This just goes to prove that if we haven't heard of somebody, that don't mean a thing!

The whole thing back then led to the rumor/misapprehension that Cass and Jimi Hendrix had been married. Interesting visual, anyway, though untrue.
