Just returned from the Jug-a business meeting of course. We have discussed beer food and computers and Syd's reply to all were no problem!
Beer- we will almost certainly have a Mudcat special ale brewed by Brown Cow Brewery. This will be available at the pub and if you want to bring suitable carry out containers you can take some to the hall on Saturday night. There will not be a bar at the hall but you can take alcohol with you.
Food-the Jug is reknowned for its good food especially pies. If the weather is favourable we will have a barbeque on the Saturday evening before the ceilidh. Val will organise the food so no need to bring that.
Computer-Syd has agreed to our setting up a live paltalk Mudcast especially if we show him hiw his computer works! More about this later.
So you can see we didn't just go for the food and beer!!

Have just explored Patrish's Link. At 10,000 scale can almost see bumps on Syd's field. Presumably PH is The Jug and not the acidity of the beer.

Looking forward to meeting the 40 visitors!! Cheers GB

The awning is not at the end of the day. It's the beginning, isn't it?

I'm still looking for a lift for Maggie (see earlier in thread).

Cheers, Les

Jolly good. Could still do with a few from further afield too. Maybe some of the German mudcatters might like to get over for it and so far we have noone from North of the border. We're thinking of taking our awning so that there is somewhere to have a night cap or an outside session during the day if the weather is good. MInd you if you can still walk as far as our awning at the end of the day you aren't doing it right! But the offer is there

We're coming and I know the Magician bagged a space for his caravan when he was down last weekend. I should imaging we'll either need space for the tiny tent or cadge a bed in his van. Hope to get to the Jug tomorrow.

I could really do with starting to get numbers so can I repeat an earlier request that if you are definitely coming send me a personal message saying how many and whether you are tent, caravan or sweep up with the empties. This doesn't mean anyone can't turn up unannounced (please do) but if we are looking at large numbers we can plan accordingly and vice versa.
Thanks Jane

There will certainly be a raffle Les. We are already looking at some ideas for prizes but bottles etc for minor prizes will all be gratefully accepted or anything musical especially if its a mudcatters latest CD (Bill?)or even just silly things as booby prizes!. We will also have to cover any expenses too Which hopefully won't be too heavy. I am looking into the idea of T=shirts as well but may ask folk if they are interested rather than order a batch and get caught out. Certainly any money collected over the weekend will go to Mudcat funds.

The hall is booked! Val, the landlady sorted it for us in the week. I'm not sure if we're going to be able to have it all afternoon or just evening but whichever it will be a cracking do! We've even got some dancing in the afternoon-Mouldy dances with a North West side and Bill plays for a longsword team so they are coming along to add a bit of colour. I've even approached the local brewery to see if they can do us a special brew but I haven't heard back on that one yet! So if you haven't made up your mind yet let me do it for you-come you'd be sorry to miss this!

There are quite a lot of mudcatters Heading to Whitby's Moor and Coast festival on the May Day bank holiday weekend. However it is only my bad punctuation probably that has misled you the Yorkshire Gathering is in the Jug on 18th 19th 20th May 2001. This is were the mudcatters will be doing there own thing that is not part of someone else's festival. The Moor and Coast festival is on the 5th 6th 7th May there is a thread I'll send up to the top of the list after I have sent this by repeating this message. Oh I managed to spell moor with an e on the end. If you search for it your Looking for Moore and Coast Dyslexia RULES KO!

Ickle Dorritt, Liz's method, as you correctly surmise involves a Champagne cork and a croquet mallet!!! I am definately up for this, and may camp in the beer garden, i believe a straight line is the shortest distance between 2 pints

Syd is doing well Noreen. He has an excellent assistant called Jason who does all the heavy stuff for him and also gives him resting space should he need it but to us he is almost back to his old self. And a weekend of everyone drinking and eating in his pub will definitely put the colour back into his wallet!

I was a little worried that the venue would be too small but now you have come up with the cleaver ploy off allowing Banjo Players! That should make enough room to get to the bar!

Only Joking!

Please, please do not leave your Banjo on the back seat of your car! Someone did that last year at the Moor and Coast! And when they got back to their car someone had smashed the windscreen! Not only that there were Two more Banjo's on the front seats!

See you all before the Yorkshire Gathering in Whiby for the Moor and Coast!

Syd the landlord loves banjos and since his favourite tune is duelling banjos it will probably be requested at least a couple of times during the weekend - so be warned!

Now , now boys! Your link worked perfectly Bill and I have just sent John an e-mail with suggestions for a special badge to commemorate the Yorkshire gathering.
This is fun already. One or two people have pm'd me to say they are coming and whether they are in tents caravans etc. This could prove very useful rather than having to go through all the thread each time so feel free to do so.
