Subject: poetry search From: GUEST,wildboar1@iwon.com Date: 18 Sep 00 - 12:12 AM Hi all- if anyone can help me find a poem mocking the original version of "Desiderada" i would much appreciate the help. My chem teach had a rather dour outlook on life and had this posted on his board when i was in HS(85) and I haven't seen a copy since. I was just fwd.ed. a copy of the "optimist" version and would like to return a copy of the "realist" version, I think it was re-titled "Detiorata". Anyway, thanks if anyone can help; please respond to wildboar1@iwon.com {my friend's comp, he will pass it along to me} g'night!!! TJ |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: poetry search From: Jacob B Date: 18 Sep 00 - 10:01 AM The Deteriorata is from the National Lampoon's first record, Radio Dinner. Calling it the realist's version is not realistic: cynic's version is closer to the truth. The recording used "You are a fluke of the universe. You have no right to be here" as a refrain. Has anyone waded through the Dumbentia parody site mentioned above to see if the Deteriorata is in it? If it's not available there, I might be persuaded to put the LP on the turntable and report back with the lyrics. Jacob |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: poetry search From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 18 Sep 00 - 06:13 PM Here is a link to it, courtesy the trusty macrosearch programme Webferret, which is free from this site, and which I tend to recommend to people in a hurry. Mind, it is much more interesting asking at the Mudcat, because the discussions can go off in interesting directions. as this one may well... |
