Subject: Killing the thread
From: Allan C.
Date: 18 Jul 00 - 04:46 PM

So you cleverly (you think) worded your finest thoughts on the subject of the thread and after a final glance, you pushed the "Submit" button. And then you watch to see if your addition to the discussion promotes further comments. And you watch. And you watch. And the thread meanders ever closer to the bottom of the forum page. Then it sinks into oblivion.

Was it something you did? Was it something about the way you worded your last posting? What happened?

...Does this scene seem familiar to anyone else?

I think its pretty common......Every once in awhile, somebody mentions it and I guess it must be pretty universal Allan......Wonder who will be the "killer" on this thread.

Actually, what bothers me more is when some nasty, descension creating, thread has been floating around and when things are about to calm down and head back for whatever passes for normal, somebody brings it back to the top for some comment or another. I know this is always with the best intentions by most of us (as opposed to flamers), but when the sucker is about to die, it'd be nice to let it go.

Hmmmmmmmm. Yep, me, too. But what if we always posted to threads so that we wouldn't be letting our friends down by letting their thoughts just kind of dwindle away. Would we soon be overrun with NETs (Never Ending Threads)? I do know the feeling, though. Just when you feel you've said something really profound, you turn around and no one's there. It's even worse when you refresh to try to stimulate some interest and the damn thing goes flaccid again. Is this thread creep? Am I mixing metaphors? Neil...Oh NEIL...

Here's another thing that happens to me. It's not worthy of it's own thread, though. Sometimes I start reading a really cool thread, and just when I'm ready to post, I see that I already have. Makes me feel kind of stupid. Especially when I'm ready to post the exact opposite of what I already posted. Kinda of makes me wonder sometimes....

Yeah, it is really nice to feel that you said something so well; that you covered the ground so succinctly but with startling clarity that there really isn't any more to be said.

But in my particular reality, that would be a rare event, indeed. And, once again, how does one know if it was ever even noticed if the thread dies? Maybe, just maybe I bored everyone to death.

But it is (alas!) true that a thread must finally end at some point. We can't all continue to validate each other forever.

It is reassuring to know that there are others who have felt similar pangs.

That's happened to me a number of times, especially at night. I've found that the message usually went in alright, but the thread doesn't go to the top on my browser. I've found that if I click on the Reload button on my browser, the list is then reloaded in correct chronological order.

The longer The Mudcat forum runs, it will be obvious that threads do not die. It will not be possible to start many truly NEW thread subjects. They will be just variations on the existing themes.

I quite like the idea of linking threads with similar subjects, started at different times, with different contributors, together. It adds to our collective knowledge.

Sometimes it probably makes more sense to look for and refresh an older thread and add to it, than starting a new one.

When the 'navel gazing' season is upon us, it is the lesser of a number of evils to refresh one of these current threads, containing some good comments, before it drops off the bottom. For if it does drop off the bottom, you can bet your life that fresh ones will be created. It is probably better in my opinion to have one long-running thread than many such threads. It makes it easier to ignore, at least.

We can knock these threads but they are the only ones that everyone feels qualified and entitled to contribute to. For they are about The Mudcat forum and everyone here cares about that..

Shambles makes what I think is a good point (thinking to myself that I am about to cause a bit of thread drift). There are lots of us who really don't know a whole lot about certain aspects of folk music or instrumentation, etc.. We just know what we enjoy hearing. I love that there are threads which deal largely with thoughts about how we feel about certain situations or ideas or whatever. Many of these discuss matters which are quite close to our hearts and are therefore very interesting to a lot of us. These are threads to which we could all contribute.

Many leap to mind but I will only give one example: There was a thread which resulted in a discussion regarding special seating for the disabled and how performers felt about it and how venue managers might handle things better. Ethical Question I am glad to have threads like that.

Allan

When a thread or posting of mine dies, I usually feel that I have said something wrong. But then again if I really said something wrong I am quite sure someone else would be quick to let me know.
Maybe if you said something very profound others who it has an impact on are quietly absorbing what you have said.
Shambles, is it okay if I 'off season' navel gaze upon this thread?

I see a few experiences expressed here, similar to what I have experienced; especially in the last few weeks. A few perfectly interesting music (only) threads have come and gone with little attention while much wailing and gnashing of teeth goes on over social issues. BUT I recognize that those good threads that passed without a ripple this time, are threads with merit and would have been well received at other times ... so I suspect we've suffered a bit from summer doldrums, and a few 'hot topics' have snuffed the life out of those otherwise worthy threads. I suspect the situation will change as time passes.

Now I'm off to see what threads Allan C. has started recently and figure out how I could have missed them!

Click here for an example Distortion of history in folksong.

This will probably kill this thread stone dead……. or not?

One of the things that 'kills' a thread for me is when someone (and this usually and mainly Catspaw), sets the questionable example of taking the trouble to post to it and makes NO other contribution to the thread. Other than to say " that was an excellent post _________", or "well done _______". Or some other private joke and this whether the thread is BS or not.

If it is ever really necessary to publicly praise someone, without totally patronising them (given that there are better ways like personal messages to do it). It would be nice to see some positive contribution made to the subject being discussed as well, otherwise such post's motives may be thought of as, best unhelpful at worst, 'brown-nosing'.

It surely shows not a little conceit, to think that a post containing ONLY your approval will be of any interest to anyone else, when a post showing ONLY one's disapproval, would generally be accepted as having little value?

Hey, I'm the one with the Schmidas touch around here, so let me be the one to kill this one off!
On the other hand, the little clicky "add thread to tracer" is a boon. There are times when I can't pop into the 'cat for whatever reason, and a couple of days is sometimes long enough for threads to wax and wane and fall off the list, but by tracing them you can always go back and catch up.
Trouble is, then you've got horrible proof that you really were the last person to post to the thread.

I've found there's two ways you kill a thread. One is where you write some would-be clever stuff that you sort of feel is the last word. And it is. But you've no way of knowing whether it really was the last word, and the others are saying "can't top that one" - or whether they have just pissed off down the pub, so to speak, leaving you talking to yourself in an empty room. Sad.

And the other way is where a thread seems to be vanishing away, and you refersh it to keep it in circulation, and nobody picks it up, and you realise you were trying to revive a corpse anyway. Sad also.

Someone's going to kill this thread. Have I just done it now?

Seems to me that each thread has just so much life in it, just so many things that can be said even with an infinite number of people reading it.I will sometimes skip a thread that has gotten a bit lengthy due to lack of time or because I don't feel there is much else to be said and I guess maybe others do to, which is why it goes to thread heaven ( or the other place).

Not to change the subject here but thread creep seems to kill the initial intent of many threads. Something within the message of some threads triggers a chord in several readers at once and off they go posting about why the mayo went bad in that sandwich... It's happened to me as well. I guess some obscure questions, though they may seem important to some of us, are not very interesting to others. We can't seriously expect to find all the answers here, can we? Maybe some things are best left unanswered.

You realise that this thing is getting harder to kill than the woman in 'Mercy', the Stephen King thing, where the author takes at least 5 goes to keep her down. The French and Saunders parody of it was even better than the original!

Somebody, take it out, put a stake through it and bury it at a crossroads, at midnight in an unmarked grave!!!

Then it can come back as the UnThread......

Alright, I been thinkin' and technically a thread may be linked to another, a part 2, but part 2 is NOT the original thread and exists with a separate thread ID number.

Most threads become hard to load at about 100 and real tough at 150....ridiculously time consuming after that. This sucker isn't dying of course, so let's just run it up to 150 or 200 so that it is too time consuming to screw with. Post OK if you like. Or good idea. Anything. Post your underwear size...we'll talk about it. When it gets up there, we let it go and take mutual responsibility/credit for killing the sucker.

Or a dry dissertation.

This one is peripherally related to a song challenge idea.

Last year, Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation wished to address what it saw as a gap in the market by being the first company to produce a cordless reciprocating saw. The company wanted to introduce the new product at an annual hardware show, which meant that the product lead-time was only four months. This case study details how this ambitious project was carried out using a combination of effective planning and a range of time-compression technologies.

Case Study:Rapid Development of a Reciprocating Saw Tom Markert PSI Alliance

Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation was founded in 1924 and manufactures premium performance, high durability, portable electric tools. It has a very broad product line with over 400 different tools. Its banner product is the Sawzall ™ reciprocating saw. In April of 1996, Milwaukee saw the opportunity to strategically enhance its product line by being the first company to market with a cordless Sawzall ™. Battery technology had advanced far enough to make this a feasible tool that would perform up to the company's high standards. The company made the decision to develop and introduce the new product in a mere four months-less than half the time for a usual program of this type. The target introduction date was the annual Hardware Show in Chicago, traditionally one of the major venues for introducing new products in the power tool industry.

The program was headed by Dave Selby, Chief Engineer of Cordless Products. Dave's internal team consisted of Mechanical Engineers, Designers, Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Tool Designers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Marketing and Purchasing personnel. Starting with a working motor design, the group had to develop a charger, battery, geartrain, and packaging (the housing of the actual tool). The build of this design consisted of 11 different plastic components, namely a motor housing; left and right handles; left, right, and top battery housings; left and right battery latches; lock slide; connector block; and a charger insert. Selby discussed the program with Tom Market, Project Consultant for the PSI Alliance.

Dave Selby discussed the goals of the program with PSI and reviewed the requirements of the plastic components. Project consultants at PSI try to understand the particular needs of the end user. Some of the more important issues are lead-times, functionality of the parts, volumes, accuracy, and how the prototypes will be used. From this information they can generate options for producing the parts that will meet the end user's needs.

The first step for Milwaukee was to produce color renderings of the tool. Engineering worked with the Industrial Designers and Marketing to produce a design. This started out as sketch work for the entire Sawzall™ and then became drawings for the individual parts. The individual part sketches came fairly early, especially on the handles because the design was of particular concern.

From these designs, work began on the 3D modeling of each component using ProEngineer. The handle of the tool merited special attention. The Sawzall ™ handle design has a distinct, brand-identifying look. The switch in the cordless version is slightly larger then the A/C switch in the corded designs, so the handles had to be made bigger to accommodate the switch. However, at the same time, the handle styling needed to be as close to the original Sawzall handle as possible. From the early ProE files, Milwaukee cut wren wood models of the entire tool on a Fadal VMC30 CNC machine. Wren models were used because the capability to do so was available in-house. Also, the internal details of the parts were not a concern-the desire was solely to get the outside shape for ergonomics. These models were held and examined to ensure that they had the proper feel and look. Marketing worked closely with Engineering to validate the design. As each CNC model was made, changes were incorporated into the CAD file and another set of handles would be cut. Three iterations were completed in one week to arrive at an optimum shape.

It was now time to move onto the next stage. The design engineers needed to begin verifying the fit and details of the parts. The ProE files were sent via modem to the vendors (later the files were sent using file transfer protocol [ftp] because this method was found to provide better and easier transfer) and stereolithography (SL) parts were produced. ATI was one of the companies providing Milwaukee with SL models for fit and cosmetics review. The company is part of the PSI Alliance and specializes in RP parts. "These models were very similar to printing out a rough draft of a text document. We wanted to have parts in our hands to look at," says Dave Selby. "We reviewed the fits between parts, looked at clearance issues, ergonomics of the parts, etc. Looking at actual parts made it easier to see problems such as sharp corners or poor fit up between parts."

Three to four SL models were made of each part. As with the wren models, any changes were incorporated into the CAD file and a new model was produced with the revised designs. According to Dave Selby, "The SL parts were excellent for this purpose. They provided clean, crisp, accurate models in a very short period of time. Some of the parts were turned around in as little as 24 hours." Milwaukee was able to hold design reviews with the SL parts and have early manufacturing studies done. The battery supplier and the Milwaukee Manufacturing cell used these models to develop assembly processes. Previously, manufacturing would not have been able to work with actual components until much later in the project. After assembling several complete tools with SL parts, several design improvements were identified that aided manufacturing and provided a better overall product design. They also were able to use the SL models to look at wiring, routing and internal component placement and were able to arrange some of the internal features of the part to help make the wire rerouting easier. The carrying case for the product was even designed using the SL models.

The next phase required a limited amount of functional testing. ATI met this need with Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) parts in glass-filled nylon. These parts were robust enough to allow several tools to be assembled and run as working models. One part-the charger insert-required higher heat resistance than the SLS or SLA material was able to provide. This single part was made on a finite deposition-modeling machine using the ABS material. The SLS parts served various purposes. The feel and balance of the tool was checked during operation. The battery runtime was verified by using an SLS-built tool to cut 2" x 4" lumber. Tool temperature characteristics were also evaluated and several opportunities were identified for improvement. This in itself validated the extra round of SLS parts. Overall, the SLS parts allowed design optimization to occur without impacting production tooling. After the SLS evaluation, Milwaukee released part designs for injection mold tooling. With only eight weeks to the hardware show, time was running short.

"There were two possible scenarios for the injection-mold tooling," said a PSI Project Consultant. "The first option was to build what we call Tru Tools. These are foundry-cast tools made from a SL pattern. The tools have cooling lines cast in, full ejection is added, and the tool is run in a standard injection-mold press. The tooling investment is much lower than cut tools. The parts are molded in the production-specified resin and are equivalent functionally to production parts. The drawbacks are that the tool life is limited (2000 parts), the part cost is somewhat higher than cut tool parts and the aesthetics do not meet production quality. This option is excellent for projects that require a limited number of parts for testing and design verification in specified resin.

The second option was to make CNC machined tools out of QC7 aluminum. These tools produce parts that meet or exceed the quality standards of most customers. Tru Tools are typically 30- 50% of the cost of a cut production tool. Cut QC7 aluminum tools are typically 70-75% of a production tool. In this case, Tru Tools represented a 4-5 week process, cut tools were 4-8 weeks, and production tools typically ran in the 12-20 week period. Cut aluminum tools have tolerances in the .005-in. range. TruTools-as cast-have tolerances in the .012-.020-in. range-this can be improved for critical areas by machining.

Milwaukee decided to use the CNC cut tools. With this option, the company was able to bridge into production using the aluminum tools to supply production parts until the actual steel tools were ready. Omega Plastics-another PSI Alliance member, which specializes in prototype, bridge to production tooling and molding-was able to meet the high quality requirements and supply the first 10,000+ units. "The accuracy, look, and function of the parts was outstanding" say Selby. "We were able to get an additional three months of sales on the front end by using these tools."

To kick these tools off a meeting was held with Omega, PSI, Milwaukee's engineering team, and the production molders to review the designs and work through any concerns before building the tools. Critical dimensions were flagged and a Quality Control plan was outlined. The ProE files were not fully dimensioned at this point. Milwaukee provided Omega with critical dimension drawings for the QC plan. Omega has over 35 lead toolmakers in house and was able to begin work on all 11 tools at once. "Our focus, capacity, and internal systems are all geared for rapid turnaround of tools," says Jeff Kaczperski, National Director of Customer Support at Omega. "Couple this with our experienced people and you can handle large programs like this in a very short time." CAD files were ftp'd directly to Omega from Milwaukee and came through with no discrepancies; both companies are ProEngineer users. Once the files arrived, the toolmaker and CAD engineer worked together to develop the cavity and core splits.

Omega keeps the QC7 aluminum in stock so once the tool is developed they can go right into the millwork. When running the SLS tools, Milwaukee discovered several features that needed adjustment. One example was the function of the battery latches. Omega was able to react quickly to make the change-the fix took 3 days as an engineering change to the tool-and still met the delivery schedule. The production toolmaker was also able to make the changes in his tooling. According to Selby, "not only did they finish the tools in 8 weeks, they were also able to react very quickly to these type of design changes. The longest tooling revision took only one week." Milwaukee and production molders attended many of the mold samplings to speed the approval process and learn as much about the injection-molding parameters as possible. This transfer of knowledge aided in the startup of production tooling later on.

Omega's tooling allowed Milwaukee to introduce the cordless Sawzall ™ at the Hardware Show and build tools for its customers immediately, while the production injection-mold tooling was being finished. The bridge tooling allowed the company to enter the market three months before the actual production tools came on line.

"It was truly a team effort", says Selby. "The resources and hard work of our internal people was nicely complemented by the PSI Alliance companies. We were able to apply the proper technologies at the right stages of the project to ensure we met our goals." The Cordless Sawzall ™ won the 1997 Wisconsin Governor's New Product Award and the Plant Engineering Product of the Year Gold Award for 1996. Sales have exceeded expectations and continue to grow.

Let's see if ole' < href=http://www.teleport.com/~gumball/fanthorpe.htm>Lionel Fanthorpe can help out a little. This is from his campy sci-fi book called "Dark Continuum"...seems a fitting title for this thread:

"She screwed up the securing diagram and was overwhelmed by a sudden desire to clean her teeth. It became the be all and end all of existence for a few seconds. The desire to clean her teeth grew absolutely compulsive, she could have no more resisted it than she could have flown unaided between two planets.

Moving quickly from the radio to her living quarters, she squeezed a little water into a plastic container and put a few dabs of toothpaste on her brush. She slipped the brush into her mouth and pressed the small button in the end which activated its electric motor. The bristles-soft, gentle bristles, guaranteed not to damage the enamel or the gum-moved swiftly against the teeth. She began with the top left molars, worked round to the bicuspids, and came round again from them to the incisors, the canines, the laterals and the centrals.

Once she had reached the front of her mouth, she-changed her grip on the brush so that it moved round to the top right, travelling over the bicuspids and molars as it moved. Coming down the sides of her teeth, she paused and took a deep breath, placed a little more paste upon the brush and moved it round again this time beginning with the actual chewing surface of the upper right molars, coming round and cleaning again between the crevices until she had worked round to the left-hand molars.

Once more she put paste on the brush in this same elaborate ritual and concentrated her attention now upon the inside of the upper left molars, the inside of the upper left bicuspids, round across the incisors and so back to the right-hand masticators. She rinsed the brush, reapplied the paste and repeated the whole ritualistic process with the lower teeth. She cleaned the brush very carefully and then, in a set way, put it back and moved back towards the radio set.

She had taken barely a dozen paces when she was assailed by a horrible thought that she had not cleaned the top left inside molars. She stood in an agony of uncertainty for five minutes, then went back to the bathroom area of her living quarters, recharged the brush and carefully cleaned again the top left molars on their inside surfaces. She looked at her reflection in the mirror; it foamed back at her like a rabid dog.

"This time I have done them all," she said. "What about the bottom inside molars?" asked her reflection. "I have done them all," said Marian firmly. "If you have forgotten them the bacteria responsible for dental caries will get in," said the voice in her mind. "It is no good being clean on the outside if you have forgotten the inside. Are you sure you have done the left inside?" "Yes, I have, I have." Marian picked up her toothbrush and flung it savagely across the dome; it bounced from the thick plastic glass and broke on the floor.

Ya didn't really think we'd let you have the last downstroke of the stake, didja Spaw? Naw....thought not!

I'll get right to the point. It is neither possible nor desirable to ignore the issue of cliqueism here. I hope to end Dead Thread's control over the minds and souls of countless people, including all you lot!

Time cannot change Dead's behavior. Time merely enlarges the field in which Dead can, with ever-increasing intensity and thoroughness, destroy the heart and fabric of our Forum. And what about his cronies, the Thread Creeps? They, like Dead, are the worst kinds of superficial bullshit I've ever seen. Of course, I'm generalizing a little here. But only 'cause it is SO hard to get even the simplest message into the consciousness of such idjits (whoever had a momma that would name tehir kid "Creep"???)that it has to be repeated at least 50 times!

Now, I'm saying you need to hear this 50 times, but when one examines the ramifications of letting Dead Thread go on mucking up the Forum in perpetuity, using it as a mechanism of ideology, one finds a preponderance of evidence leading to the conclusion that Dead is a pretty good liar most of the time. Luckily, Dead tells so many lies, he's bound to trip himself up someday. The recent outrage at Dead Thread's antics may point to a brighter future. For now, however, I must leave you knowing that it's time to put up or shut up.

OK, paraphrases of great Bible verses oughtta do it. If not I can always go on to discuss various creedal statements throughout English history.

"Wring not the nose lest one wringeth forth blood." (I think it's in Proverbs)

If you are swimming in the dungpile or cesspool, the work of your hands, no matter how skillful, will avail little. (Isaiah, definitely.)

It's all true. I read it in my Bible. I just don't memorize well.

Kill This Now Before 666

You know you want to it makes sense, dont forget

every day in every way I'm getting better and better

All to gether now

THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE (Eric Idle)

Cheer up, Brian. You know what they say; Some things in life are bad, They can really make you mad. Other things just make you swear and curse, When you're chewing on life's gristle, Don't grumble, give a whistle, And this'll help things turn out for the best, hey,

Always look on the bright side of life, Always look on the light side of life, If life seems jolly rotten, There's something you've forgotten, And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing. When you're feeling in the dumps, Don't be silly chumps, Just purse you're lips and whistle, That's the thing.

And, always look on the bright side of life, Always look on the right side of life, For life is quite absurd, An. death's the final word, You must always face the curtain with a bow, Forget about your sin, give the audience a grin, Enjoy it, it's you last chance of the hour.

So, always look on the bright side of death, Just before you draw your terminal breath, Life's a piece o' shit, When you look at it, Life's a laugh and death's a joke it's true, You'll see it's all a show, Keep 'em laughing as you go, Remember that the last laugh is on you.

And, always look on the bright side of life, Always look on the right side of life, Come on, Brian cheer up, Always look on the bright side of life, Always look on the right side of life, Worse things happen at sea, you know, Always look on the bright side of life, I mean, what do you have to lose? You come from nothing, You go back to nothing. What have you lost? Nothing! Always look on the bright side of life.

On July the 18th, Terry K posted the following to this thread:

"Seems the only sure fire way to get a thread to last a long time is to say something about Ireland. Doesn't seem to matter what."

Well, since I've been a member of the Mudcat, I've killed at least one, and now possibly two threads by talking about Ireland. I don't know why, exactly, but in Ireland, I seem to have the knack for clearing a room. So maybe this post will kill the thread.

Best regards to everyone, Carol

If one were to read the "Why is Mudcat so slow" thread, they would realise that resources are tied up while a thread is being processed. Please consider the time that this one takes to download and at least think about a killing the thread #2 if this must be continued. I could be wrong on this but it appears that 2 or more shorter threads are far less of a strain on the MC resources than processing something of this size.

Little Hawk, you should never have posted to this. You're the one with the talent for starting threads that go on for a verrrry long time...
And why did you do it? I wouldn't have thought that an energizer bunny like this one would be appetizing to hawks - too much plastic and metal. And the fuzzy nylon stuff gets in your beak...

Spaw, let's get it up to 350, ok?

You know, I have this horrible fear that I've killed it now. I start a thread and get like, 2 responses. I write something about Guy Fawkes in the British and American Cultural Differences 2 thread, and someone (*hrumpf*) thinks it was celticblues5 who wrote it!

I think I'll go back to the Greenman now... I need a drink... and sympathetic company...

I suppose that they probably burn as easily as the prologue and the table of contents though, so I shouldn't really be so surprised.

Wait a minute, are you advocating the burning of books?

Of all tragedies, a complete inability to see the value in spontaneous humour is probably the most tragic of all.

I once had a neighbour who was utterly humourless. He liked only jazz music of a certain style whose name escapes me, and he objected to all other forms of music. He considered folk music, and all modern popular music ("modern" meaning after 1955, I guess, to him) to be beneath contempt.

He also kept raising hell about the sound of my lawnmower, although he wasn't bothered by his own lawnmower's sound, strangely enough. He threatened to have me charged with disturbing the peace for mowing my lawn on Sunday one time. He made repeated demands that I should mow the lawn only at certain specific time intervals determined by him.

Accordingly, I bought an ass and put the lawnmower in storage. By allowing the ass free range of the lawn, I was enabled to have the grass trimmed regularly in almost complete silence.

I have since moved, but became so fond of the ass that I brought it with me to my new home. Anyone who doesn't approve of this thread is welcome to come over for a visit any old time and kiss it.

I always thought the whole point of being a musician (or 'artist' of any sort) was you expressed yourself - brrummpp! - in what ever way you saw fit. If others take delight in sharing it with you, even better. Sometimes the actual music is merely the catalyst in the greater scheme of things...

As a new Mudcatter I'm not taking it personal if the thread that I start begins and ends with me. I just figure that when everyone interested has posted that they simply try too keep the fresh topics rolling which in turn keeps the forum alive. It would be kind of dull to talk about the same topic for days on end with no end in sight. Variety is the spice of life or so the saying goes. I for one am having a blast and I've only posted about 5 or 6 times so far. Keep the topics rolling and keep those threads threading I guess. Okay, like, Happy Flippin' Chinese New Year, eh? It's comin' up, eh, and it's a good excuse to go out and pig out on Chinese food and get loaded! I always, like, hop on my snowmobile and head over to the nearest Chinese buffay and I eat at least 3 servings of everythibg, and then I start chugging a few beers. Last night I chugged 17 and I could stil talk. Sort of. It only took me five minutes too, eh? I bet you losers can't match that!

My brother Don couldn't match it. He fell in the North Channel last night and he still isn't up to par, so he only lasted 15 and a 1/2 beer befroe he ran out of steam. He couldn't talk right, either, eh? Of course, there's nothing new about that!

Hey, what is this thread about anyway, eh? It's awfully flippin long if yiou ask me. Took a flippin' age to load it. I hadda go and down 3 beer while I waited.
