Quite a crowd anymore and the more the merrier! Karen and I will be at Wayne and Connie's tonight and alas, she is still "net paranoid" but perhaps I'll be home in time to check in for awhile. BTW, all the screwing around with my soundcard may have improved things.....we'll see.

Have a great time as I'm sure you will and don't forget that next Sunday is the "Autoharp" Special.

Spaw

Friends,

It is most likely that if I am there tonight it will be just to listen from the next room. Would you be so kind as to let folks know that-- if you see my name listed as present but I am not participating in text?

Having a text orgy without me.... aw go ahead!

Hardiman bought a laptop for the parish office.

And brought it home today.

With a microphone.

Oh. My. God.

Mbo, I will try to be there, but text on the parish computer?

I've been wanting to join in for weeks but had schedule conflicts. Tonight, ready and willing, I wanted to join in the singing too but I couldn't get in. At least I could have listened in the event I didn't know the song. Feeling bummed.

I sang this and tried to teach it but people asked for the words. I have to check on the author... Sandy Paton told me and I forgot...

When you SING you've got to SING
With the strength of a lullabye;
You'll never know till you try.
When you SING you've got to SING
With the patience of a lullabye,
You'll never know till you try.
Your SONG'S inside you,
Let your SONG guide you,
Let it be your lullabye.

ON SUCCEEDING VERSES, replace [SING] with another word, a verb that is also a noun, such as:

When you WORK....
When you PLAY...
When you PRAY...
When you CHANGE...
When you LOVE...

i am sorry, Amergin and bflat, that you had trouble tonight. I had that happen to me last week. I am wondering if HearMe gets weird when there are a lot of us in there? My computer just totally disconnected from the Internet once this evening when I was singing!

Please, everyone, these can happen anytime. Please set some times to accomodate your time zones, etc., too, and LET US KNOW WHEN in a thread! We'd really love to HearYou. Since I work at home, I can usually stop in for a bit during the day. People in the UK, OZ and NZ, just say when and we'll see what happens.

I sang Phil Ochs' No More Songs
Bombed on a couple of others, and
played The Water is Wide on my violin! First time in 30 years!

More practise!

NOBODY'S MOGGY'S LAND (No Moggy's Land) by Bob Kanefsky. The song is a parody of No Man's Land by Eric Bogle. I suspect it's sort of a combination of that Bogle song and another - NOBODY'S MOGGY NOW. It's obviously in the DT, but I got it from Bob's site, Songworm Parody Database. Lots of Filk songs there.

Thanks Jeri & Amergin And thanks for the link to the lyrics. Have to try and remember or reinvent the tune, although the tune to the chorus is familiar, I guess from Eric Bogle.

Looking forward to hearing more.
