I recently heard this song performed, and am interested in lyrics, chords, and any history surrounding it. I believe the title is correct. It begins " A wager, a wager, oh will you go with me
Away to the May Blooming Fields"

Leej, sounds like a version of "The Broomfield Wager", Child ballad #43(?). The ones in the DT are all English or Scottish versions. Sounds like an American version - maybe some of our ballad mavens will know!
