No this is not about pills.

A few days ago I received a telephone call from a male friend. After talking for a few minutes, I heard the sound of water falling, and then a flush. I asked, djd you actually call me when going to the John? Sure enough, it was true

Have you had similar experiences, or others that turned you off? If so, how do you feel about that?

Are you keyboarding on Mudcat from a porcelain seat now-but, maybe there are some things we do not need to know? Have portability and "potability" now merged?

OK, while we wait for it to be oved to BS, here is lyrics, based on a Bobby Bare classic:

""Cause here we are, textin' in the bathroom,
all together now, textin' in the bathroom,
Everybody's keyboardn' in the bathroom,
' while sittin' on the old white can"

While a tablet might be quite handy for reading on the bog,
it would not be as much use as a traditional newspaper or magazine
if you find you've run out of toilet paper...

years ago when mobile phones were new & replaced couriers for picking up info from the Govt Agency I worked for, a male colleague using the urinal reported hearing a voice from the stall reading out the data accompanied by what he delicately called "full sound affects"

Conversations I've overheard - a woman checking in about a job interview, 2 women who I thought were talking to each other in adjoining stalls but were making phone calls, ...

Tablets and bathrooms go well together if you are constipated.

Moses knew this when his arse got blocked up. "And Lo! He took the tablets and went off into the wilderness"

Ever tried carrying a huge lump of stone around? You'd list a bit. Drop it on their toes and you'd soon find out who's naughty or nice. And what happened to the first set he dropped and broke? Fine way to set up a moral baseline for the next 4000 years of civilisation, plus or minus.

Sixteen years ago when we were staying at an upscale inn that catered to business travelers, I was surprised to see a telephone in the bathroom. It was a first for me and would have missed it if not for the gift certificate from my employer. I said at the time I wasn't used to staying at places with a phone next to the toilet.

Nowadays getting calls from people who are, uh, "multi tasking" is altogether too common. Even my 84 year old mother did it while using her cordless phone. But she apologized and I don't think she ever did it while on the phone with someone not in the family.

I used to just shake my head when I had to use the public restroom at Sears and there would be a phone conversation going on in another stall.

Winston Churchill was on the toilet when an aide shouted that a minister (various ones have been quoted) needed to speak with him urgently.

"Tell him that I can only deal with one shit at a time" was allegedly the answer..

There's a good reason I don't Skype in the loo. Sometimes if I am in the middle of co-counseling with someone when a gallbladder issue becomes suddenly urgent, I quietly take care of business. I just don't run the noisy water till I've hung up.
