President Obama, in reference to last nights game said it would be 24-21 "they are too evenly matched." Evenly matched my arse! I demand Congressional hearings on this very important matter!

Fox News coverage kinda writes its self don't it?

I agree! I think NSA took over the scoreboard after cooking the brains of whoever it was that was playing the Seahawks with microwave radiation from their secret space stations on behind the moon! It's the only possible explanation.

Or!!!!!

It was the secret Muslim, neocolonial parents of the referees plotting to ruin America with boring Superbowls by playing Barry Manilow duets to them while they were in the womb.

But, NObody is discussing the elephant in the womb. Until we come together as a people and see that we are one, we will be only nations of individuals.

BTW, O'Really is an asshole. With apologies to assholes in general.

I may not understand too much about American football, but even I understand 43-8.

24-21? Where's Wronger when you need him?

Poor you, gnu.

I may not CARE too much for American football, but that's a travesty. Why, I saw some of the clips and the overarm bowling was pathetic. No runs, not even a century. The scrums and the rucks were so bad they had to be fakes, and only the Seahawks managed to turkey out. At least no one was allowed a mulligan!

Overarm bowling is quite dangerous in America, especially on alleys that have pin boys.

Pete... oooohhh, she was wicket bad, b'y... wicket bad! I kinda blame the coach because didn't anticipate the twelfth man "enough". I mean, Jaysus! It's The Show, baby! Ya should know it's gonna be loud for at least the first ten minutes so if her on the short end of the red zone, go visual until yer twenty eh? Maybe all game if required. Now, did Fox expect it? Hell, ya. But, for some strange reason, he didn't communicate that to EVERY Bronco and the centre (center) snapped on cadence THAT HE COULDN'T HEAR! He "thought" he heard it. His words, not mine. Why he messed up is essentially beyond my conjecture but I lean towards my comment above or that it was jitters.

But that's 20-20 hindsight and it's Tuesday.

So President Obama can blame the center. You KNOW he would rather blame Fox.

An acquaintance of mine says he is tired of being told that the reason the Hawks won is that the Broncos were so bad. He thinks the Hawks won because they are that good.

IMO, Seattle's Defense was outstanding but Denver seemed totally unable to get it together. Frankly, I think they'd have been skunked if Seattle hadn't sent in their second stringers.

I don't usually watch the entire Super Bowl but I did this time- it was just too entertaining not to.

I think if the Broncos had been better coached, they'd have done much better. The difference in talent between the two teams is not that (43-8) great. The Broncos beat the Pats. The Carolina Panthers had close games with both the Pats and Seahawks.

I'll give Seattle credit for the win but Denver has to take the blame for the blowout.

When ya start the game with a safety its hard to make the case you were properly prepared. The first two points, Seattle got for no more effort than deferring on the coin toss.

The Game was touted as the best defense vs the best offense ...but it turned out that it was the best defense and offense vs the best offense.

I'm one of those people who is only interested in the Superbowl for the commercials, esp. the Budweiser Clydesdales. But I certainly expected the two teams to be more evenly matched than they were.

leeneia... The teams' players were pretty evenly, overall, matched but Yankee football is more or at least equally a game of chess than a contest of physical prowess. That is why it is the ultimate contact team sport for viewing fans as it thereby engages their minds as well as their emotions.

Yes, obviously, there is strategy required in all team sports but I suggest Yankee football is far and above all others in this regard.

Above all... on any given Sunday...

* It's a plastic cover for your whatsnames. Supposed to protect 'em but it was no match for Steve Mills. Quiet lad, wouldn't hurt a fly, but he turned into a monster on the cricket pitch.

From an earlier post of mine:

"The long-term danger is that the political system and the public start to view the president, his motives and ideas through a more skeptical lens. The short-term danger is the press races for new details, new scandals, new expressions of indignity with each passing day. Read Tuesday morning editorial pages of every paper for a taste of things to come. Or watch a rerun of Tuesday's "Morning Joe," in which reporters made it sound like Obama is a latter-day Richard Nixon."

gnu: "BTW, O'Really is an asshole."

In the interview, before the Superbowl, O'Reilly made mention, to Obama....(wait, I'll cut and paste it)

"In a lot of ways Richard Nixon was more liberal than I was," Obama said. "He started the EPA, started a whole lot of the regulatory state that has helped keep our air and water clean."

Obama's comments came in response to O'Reilly asking him if he(Obama) was "the most liberal president of all time.

So, Cheers!, to the 'so-called liberals'!!!....Nixon must have been your guy!.....either that, or Obama wasn't telling the truth, again.

Nixon and Obama???...and that from Obama's own mouth???

Remember my analogy of the boxer in the ring, hitting us with a 'right' then a 'left'?

Go Nixon!!!................................I don't think so!
'So-called liberals'?????
I've been correct all along!

Nope!

Franklin D. Roosevelt was about the most Liberal president in the 20th century and since. Teddy Roosevelt gave it a whack with the Progressive Party ("Bull Moose Party"), but didn't make it. Cleaned up a mess of corruption, though, as did FDR. Very much so.

Proof that there ARE politicians who ARE deeply concerned with the little guy and with the nation as a whole.

By the way, cricket's balls are very small.......

He's said that Don.

Are you both missing the "in a lot of ways" part?

Compared to the TeaGOP of today, President Nixon was somewhat "liberal" though a more practical way of putting, NOT INSANE. Nixon was a crook. but he did do some good things. The whole politics of this country has swung to the right. Balancing the budget and welfare reform were Clinton era, that makes him less liberal than Nixon.

But of course its not the President that make the country "conservative" or "liberal" its the president reflecting the will of the country. But O'Reilly's charge that President Obama is the most liberal is clearly nuts. Is he more liberal than Carter? Not a chance. But he may be the most liberal since Carter.
