Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 03 Mar 13 - 01:51 PM Allison, I think the Song Circle is a wonderful idea. Sadly, Ann & I will be out until quite late on Sunday, but we will be with you in mind & spirit. My song choice would be James Taylor's 'You've got a Friend'. Much Love to You All, Nigel & Ann. xxxxxxxxxx |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Janie Date: 01 Mar 13 - 11:14 PM 4:00pm Mudcat time works for me. Anytime on Sunday after, say, 9:00am Mudcat time works for me. |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 01 Mar 13 - 09:49 PM Of course, what was I thinking? The circle can start whenever it starts, and last for as long as it lasts, but for those who would like to feel that we are singing together, how about 4:00 pm Mudcat time? That would be about 9:00 pm in the UK, for example, I think? |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: gnu Date: 01 Mar 13 - 09:24 PM 8PM Mudcat is a tad late in yer eastern readership... no? |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 01 Mar 13 - 02:55 PM I've just returned from a long road trip, tired but happy with the trip and happy to be in my own sweet, dear home. I am seeing this news and the news of Kat for the first time and I only wish I had wings that would fly me to the sides of those who are hurting and in need of healing. Nigel, all I can do at this moment is stretch imaginary arms around you and hold you and your wife and daughter and her family tight, with love flowing. You are such an inspiration and we have all grown through you. Kat, you know I am with you in healing love. I think it's time for a healing song circle. If folks here would like it, I'll start a thread and suggest a time (I'm thinking this Sunday, 3/3, at around 8 pm Mudcat time). I'll wait and see what some of you think before I take the plunge and start the thread. |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 01 Mar 13 - 08:06 AM The news about Kat is very worrying. I think Spaw's post is a clarion call to action. Everything positive that we can send her way in copious quantities. She has been most gracious & caring to Ann & myself over the last year, now it's our turn to send loving, healing thoughts to Kat. Maeve, Ann & I are holding you & your relative in our thoughts too. Much Love to You All, Nigel & Ann. xxxxxxxxx |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: maeve Date: 28 Feb 13 - 10:26 PM Earlier, I quoted from this simple, lovely song: Round Our Skiff Round our skiff's be God's aboutness Ere she try the deeps of sea Sea-shell frail for all her stoutness Unless Thou her helmsman be Text: Trad. Hebrides Music: © 1984 Kathy Wonson Eddy "Kathy kindly sent me this song among many others a few years ago: she is a great source of liturgical choral music. I have sung it with our chorus and another smaller group, but Carol and I wanted to keep it in our repertoire, so here's a third way to sing it. Kathy lives in Randolph, Vermont." Gordon Bok (Round Our Skiff is recorded on the album Herrings in the Bay) http://www.timberheadmusic.com/disc/roundourskiff.htm mp3 sample here |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: gnu Date: 28 Feb 13 - 01:59 PM SOB! That's absolutely terrible news! Hard to comprehend that she has been "let be" by the docs and it has come to this. DISGUSTING! Heads should roll IN COURT and it should be investigated by the medical association and government. Donuel.... maeve is indeed tending a sick relative. Probably her post. She needs to be kept in our thoughts and prayers as well. |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: catspaw49 Date: 28 Feb 13 - 01:20 PM SPECIAL REQUEST NEWSYo Folks!!!!Just got a call from kat at the hospital. The infectionn in her fingers is staph and it is beyond the antibiotic stage. They are going to cut them open and clean/scrape them out. I'm sure additional antibiotics will come into play in the process but taking this step is big.....and absolutely critical/necessary/lifesaving. I am not being dramatic here. How serious do hospitals and Docs take this? If I go into a crowded ER and say, "I'm running a fever and I have an artificial mitral valve," I move past bleeding old ladies to the head of the line. As you all know kat has had heart problems and surgeries and staph infections anywhere in your body tend to go pretty quickly to the heart and destroy valves. One can very easily find themselves in a very narrow window here so let's all get real damn serious with whatever mojo you send out....Do it NOW! Kat and I came here at about the same time over 14 years ago and we've been Buds ever since. She's got everything I can send. Join me.........Can't type anymore.....Do it.............. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: GUEST,Manuel Date: 28 Feb 13 - 12:47 PM A little confused. Is the "Maeve" who posted twice today (so beautifully the first time)the "maeve" who often posts on this site? |
Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: GUEST,pete from seven stars link Date: 28 Feb 13 - 10:58 AM any encouragement from that consultation was certainly slim but as you sail on into yet more turbulent waters it may be that there may still be some settled sea beyond the current horizon, please God that it be so. pete. |

More when I'm home, Maeve |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: catspaw49 Date: 27 Feb 13 - 10:43 PM I doubt anyone here can relieve the pain all of you are going through now and, sadly, that which is yet to come. The many words from you yourself and all of us can only provide scant solace but we have nothing else...........I wish we did. I give you my best in love and friendship for strength and for the best possible outcome whatever that may be for you and Ann......and for Jane. Your post from the other day reminded of this song verse by Patrick Sky.......... For you the years will heal all the wounds that have been opened Just like time will cleanse the fields of all the flowers that have ripened. Of all these things you can be sure....... Only love will endure Spaw |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Nigel Paterson Date: 27 Feb 13 - 04:42 PM The news following Jane's latest consultation is not good I'm afraid. The cancer is an extremely aggressive type, the most aggressive in fact. She begins another course of chemotherapy next week. If this programme of chemo proves ineffective, Jane's oncologist said there was nothing more they could do for her. If the chemo is effective, we are looking at a prolongation of life, not a cure. Desperate, desperate times. With Love to You All, Nigel & Ann. xxxxxxxxxx |

Subject: RE: Healing thoughts & prayers please (Nigel Paterson) From: Janie Date: 26 Feb 13 - 06:24 PM Just now reading your poem, Nigel. I am crying, it resonates so much. Seeing rainbows through the tears when I look off over the waters to the west. |
