Twice now. Not once, but TWICE, Count them - 1...2... Yep you got it.

I have opened a packet of Chorley Cakes and found that all 4 cakes in the packet have a good 1/4 made up of just pastry. You heard right. Just pastry. Now, I haven't got anything against pastry but I expect my Chorley Cakes to have currents ALL THE WAY THOUGH! GOT IT???

Now, I don't know the economics of it. In fact I know fuck all about anything so I am going to go with the Daily Mail technique of making the facts fit the headline.

CURRENTS ARE BEING HELD HOSTAGE IN CHORLEY!

Seeing as Chorley cakes now have less currents we can only assume that they, the missing currents that is, are being taken into slavery by the bastards that are running the bakeries. Thes innocent little dried fruits that never did anyone any harm are being subjected to an unknown fate. Presumably torture, prostitution and sexual slavery.

Make it right for the currents. Get a petition together. Let everyone you know, know.

After all. Current affairs are very important.

Cheers

DtG

Why not broadcast an appeal on Chorley FM?

And if the worst comes to the worst, you can always switch allegiance to Ecclescakes...

Get it mentioned on Question Time. that's a Currant affairs programme innit.
Or you could ask the Sultan, if the Sultana will put in a word.

Bit of local folklore here:

My grandparents, who lived all their lives in the village of Horwich in Lancashire, pronounced "currants" as "currans". Was this a local pronunciations, or did it have a wider currency (ho! ho!)?
