Thank you, and extra thanks for taking the extra trouble. May your thoughtfulness be returned a thousandfold.

You shouldn't have! No, I mean it, you shouldn't have. I was not part of the Secret Santa this year and yet you continue to inflict horrors of the season on me.
The frog is revolting. Why is there a ladybug the size of Godzilla in the broom? Are frogs near-sighted? i know who you are...and I will get you.

PS The postage cost three times what you paid for this object de arte. I am begging you - please do not tell me that Louis made it for me. I had such hopes for him.   M

Ahhhhh!!!! How? How??
It's Christmas Eve. I'm out in the very middle of the world's biggest sheep-paddock and along came my present. Santa SRS is Magic -- She is! She really is.
Ah! Yes, I know it's SRS I well remember the Texas traffic when we met for a brief time.
I'm saving the opening for tomorrow.
Thank you Dear Santa SRS.
I'm so excited as well as amazed at the timing.
Cheers, Joy

It's Christmas morning and I have opened my pressie, thank you so much Santa! Love the pics on the magnet and calender, you live in a very scenic place - I am assuming that it is local to you? And when I am able to play again I shall enjoy playing my way through the tunes.

And I still don't know who you are!

Cheers, and many thanks

Thank you, Santa. I love my presents. The gloves fit perfectly, and I shall make good use of them this winter. I esp. liked the heather card and all the Ogham background.

But Santa didn't give me many clues to go by. Yorkshire recipes, Syke terriers and a knitter with the middle name of Heather... and Mudcat search isn't working. How will I ever find out who you are?

Again, many thanks, and have a wonderful Christmas, and a healthy, prosperous New Year.

My Santa turns out to be an A-Lister Celebrity, there being no finer Lister to starboard OR to port. The "Anne Lister lister-y lustre-y history & mystery box" is now opened to reveal lots of things that explain the Listoricaly Historical essence of all Welshness to one uninitiated in such things. One was even in coloring book form, so that even a child of near 61 who'd thought "A Child's Christmas In Wales" was about Pinnochio can understand and another will have me cooking fluently in Welsh in no time flat. There were a few others, too, and an authentic rain poncho with Wales written right on each reversable side and to top it off, a marvellous Anne Lister CD that is playing as I speak and a little red Welsh dragon who smiles down at me from atop my computer screen and makes the mighty Puff look like the Geico Gekko.

Thank you, Anne, for things silly, useful and musically uplifting, an unbeatable combination on a Christmas morn!

A fine set of holidays and a wonderous year ahead to you!

A very Merry Christmas Secret Santa!

Thank you for all the wonderful gifts..... you sure must have an accurate crystal ball.. or how would you know how badly my thread box needs sorting out, or that I just love G&B dark chocolate? I will enjoy stitching the tranquil scene.

I'm not sure who you are but perhaps the CD is the clue...... or is that a red herring?

Are you 'Hils"who has a guru who "said"?

The quartz has settle in !!!!

Thank you again for such apt gifts

May you have a very happy NEW YEAR

Oho! The decorations smell wonderfully of cloves, (clue?)and such pretty ribbon too. I love the fabrics. I haven't listened to the CD yet (family stuff) but I'm really looking forward to it - my father was born in South Wales.

Am I getting warm? After all, the town you posted to has a long association with "plated silver"...

But once again, a very big Thank You, and a very Happy Christmas to you and yours.

Ooo! Chocolate! Mooses! Lovely Maine placemat, "Maine humor" postcards! Book about strong Maine wimmins (yeah!). Ornaments! Lovely Laser Lobster hanger (destined for the porch when it gets built next summer)

Thank you Santa!

Now, who could it be? The Maine-iacs I know of off the top of my head are Kendall, Jacqui, Sins, Tami, maeve, hmmm... who else?

A hint, please, dear Santa? You KNOW I'm not good at this part!

Thank you, JennieG! Amazing how many things you managed to pack into that modest-sized envelope! The book, candles, honey (is Woolworth the same company that used to be here in the U.S.? I didn't know they existed anywhere any more? Seeing that name is like bumping into a long lost friend!) And what an interesting wood in the spreader handle. As I unpacked the bundle I handed the newspaper pages to family members to read. They enjoyed the local news from down under!

My pleasure, I'm glad you like your goodies! As far as I know Woolies is an Australian company, at least that's what their advertising implies. Their honey was the only one packed in non-glass containers so I thought it might travel better.

Please tell Charmion you are a keeper (as if she didn't know). The wonderful local Swamp Ward Orchestra CD is just exactly right. I love hurdy gurdy as well as French Canadian music, as I'm sure you recall; getting both together from Santa is sublime!

Hope you enjoyed the seal fat and muktuk, with a puree of soapberries on the side.

Woo hoo! My Secret Santa is Animaterra! Thank you, Allison! I got some New Hampshire maple sugar candy, a pretty pocket purse, a mystery book set in the New Hampshire mountains, and TWO CDs -- one by Allison and Hunt Smith, and another of the Animaterra Women's Chorus! Yay! I've been hearing ABOUT Allison and her group for quite a while, but never actually heard them -- so here's my chance! I haven't played the CDs yet (things are still a little chaotic at my house, and probably will be for several days, with all the kids and grandkid here), but I plan to soon!

Thank you, thank you, Allison! And Happy New Year!

{Wow} Merry Christmas, and thank you! Somehow, through iron will, your package got star billing - it was opened last. Everybody likes to see what's in the SS pressy. I opened the box, and there was an Italy-shaped tissuesomething. "Aha, I've been given the boot." but on, even better, I had a genuine red furry stocking - my first ever- full of Stuff. There were nuts (good, good, following tradition), little wrapped candies ,Sin-o-Mints (for the Sinner in you). Then, a wind-up head toy, some teeny post-its (I can use these). Then came the evidenc that you've done your research. My librarian self loves the bookmarks (on magnetic, and one of the Nancy Pearl action figure. I've met her, and she does have that good a sense of humor), and the folklore book is a fine choice; I've already started reading it. The cross-stitch kit got started yesterday as well. The cd sounds great! Sort of gives you a hint what I was up to yesterday, eh? And cooking stuff? You must be psychic, I can use everything - and want to. I was out of Old Bay Seasoning, the dip ingredients won't last the week, and who can't use another well-made potholder?
There's just one thing I didn't get. Your name. I have a guess, but will you please 'fess up, please, Santa?

What Joy to receive such wonderful pressies from my Own Dear Secret Santa! Such a treasure trove of delights and all so personally gifted, thank you so much Joy!!!!!

Our PC died just before Christmas and I am only occasionally able to connect via a friends lap-top, otherwise I would have been able to express my thanks much sooner. Now our Christmas guests have all departed and the cottage is being settled into near-normal order I will be able to sit and read your thoughtful stories and listen to your CD. Thank you, Lucy / Hawker for the fudge (which didn't last long!) and the wonderful beadwork and the memories of holidays at Polzeath as a child. Somewhere in the family history trunks I have the photos of me with the 'Obby 'Oss around 1956. And I have a long necklace made from shell fragments collected on the beach there.

Who are January's pipers? I think I recognise some of them, but I'm hopeless with names.

Glad to hear it Alison! I'm sorry they weren't wrapped or anything - but if they had been, they wouldn't have made it. I got them to the post office just in time for the pickup that day. I'd have loved to send you some of our local chocolate too, but I'm not sure they would have handled the trip - or the customs - very well.

And while we're thanking folks - THANK YOU TO CLAIREBEAR! What a wonderful collection of items - the tee-shirt and book for Kiran, the music, the jewelry for Geeta, the pillow, the candle - WOW! You are an amazing Santa! We are all very very grateful!

Thanks to Barbara in Lancashire somewhere (despite the package return address of Scotland!) -- judging by the Lancs calendar (hung in advance), the Lancs recipe book, and the Lancs dialect book!

Hmm... Barbara Shaw is in Connecticut, and Barbara, as in "Blessings, Barbara", is in Oregon, so it must be a Barbara who goes by some other Mudcat moniker -- hints??
