Try to take a picture of that incredible blue you see only in Alaska. That's all I want Ebbie.
Glad you're safely here, Micca.

Yikes! I came home from work at lunchtime to see how he's doing, and he's GONE! I WARNED him about those bears!

It's wonderful to have him here, and we're only just getting started. Our biggest problem is going to be deciding what to do this time and what to leave for his NEXT adventure. Dani, Tinker, no need to be jealous - just come on up. He'll be here for a few more days!

We took some pics last night, Mary, but it ws after 10pm, - dusk, you kinow, so we'll take more when we go back in the brighter light.

I'm going to check our local cross-roads Lady P, looking for an unmarked, unquiet grave that looks like it could do with a stake through it.

UHHHH Jacqui...I think the thought of Micca in his new kilt was supposed to warm us all up. You really know how to hurt a guy.

You and me both, Morticia, sporran and all. Alaska is so stunningly beautiful.
Maybe next year...

Micca tells us that we needn't have gone to the trouble of seeing to it that our weather resembles his homs's- it's weely, weely wet. Drippingly, cascadingly, sloshingly, astonishingly wet.

Well, that's good. Tell him to soak it up while he can 'cause if it really, really dry and hot here! Don't want him to dry up and blow away. Oh, and please tell him, the package from up the Beaver crick has arrived.:-)

He's on his own for one of them, Ebbie. In all of my born days, I've never laid eyes on one and hope to never start.:-) Maybe he should go to the desert on a horse with no name...sorry, couldn't resist! I can show him where they may show up!

If you do see one, kat, please snag it for me. ASt Fiddle Tunes, one of the instructors, 90-something year old Earl Murphy, keeps rattlesnake rattles inside his fiddle. Syas it makes it sound better. I'll try anything!

So, I am in Denver in a very comfortable hotel. Bert(mudcat) met me at the airport off the plane fron Alaska after a Very early start and brought me here. Tomorrow is also a very early start, the Taxi is ordered for 6 am!!! I could see the Rocky mountains as we came into Denver, and I am looking forward to the train journey. What started out to be a quiet dinner with KT yesterday evening went down hill when a few of the friends I have made during this visit came over and we had a good sing together and much hilarity. there are pix and I will put them up when I can, I am amazed at the number and quality of the friends I am making and meeting on this trip, as the toast (Free Toast!!!) went round last night, "Friends!!!!"

Here is Micca's album again in case you don't want to scroll through the entire thread to find it.

Say, Micca, if you had strayed off the trail there with KT you'd have a story to tell. Did she clue you in to that charming plant "Devil's Club?"

It sure is quiet around here.....Micca, the sun came out today! Really!       (didn't stick around long, mind you, but at least we know it's still up there somewhere!

Glad you had a good flight! love to all those dear folks on the next leg of your adventure.

SRS, no I didn't show him devil's club (Oplopanax horridus). Didn't think of it as we were too busy looking for the bears that left the calling cards! Devil's club, by the way, while a tad frightening to look at, has medicinal properties, and has been used for a long, long time by folks native to the region.
