Subject: CATSPAW .. at a Loss for Words, but Thank You
From: catspaw49
Date: 20 May 99 - 09:43 PM

Hi Ya' Group !!!

Three weeks ago I would have been totally without words had I known what was about to happen to me. Now that I'm officially on the mend, I still find it hard to explain. But what I am now and forever will be without words for is the way I feel about all of you. I am so honored and so lucky to be included in this community......Absolutely nothing can say what is in my heart. You are all truly unbelievable!!! Most of you have seen what a strong family surrounds me and that Karen and I have been blessed with the best......and I've been blessed with Karen. I have tried to explain all of you to various hospital people and they stare as though I'm having some kind of hallucination. I guess you have to live here at Mudcat to understand. This is an exceptional place, filled with exceptional people, capable of extraordinary acts of love and kindness not often found in today's world. I think it was Sandy that I asked if Max had any idea what he started here? Who would expect anything like this?

It would be easy to become quite mauldlin at this point, but I'll refrain from it. Suffice it say that I AM CONVINCED that I am alive and on the mend ("Barely Living Though Chemistry") because of the collective power of your thoughts, prayers, and good wishes. A while back, I quoted a piece from the "Bhagavad Gita" which in essence states that no matter what, a man's deeds protect him. All of you are incredibly well protected; no one can pass on so much to another and not have it come back to them. You are an incredible group. With the opening of the "Star Wars" prequel thingy, someone commented that the "FORCE" should be with me. I said I didn't need the force......I have the Power of Mudcat!!!!

I'd also find it difficult to start down the list of 'Catters who have done some extra special things for fear that I might inadvertently leave out or not give enough credit to someone. I have received so many wonderful cards, letters, CD's and other gifts...beautiful heartfelt poetry, phone calls......again just not to be believed!!! Thank You One and All............BTW, some of you are some sick puppies...a trait I admire as you all know, BUT THREE (3) of you sent me cards saying "Congrats on Having a Baby" type thing with hand written notes all saying that I probably wished I was instead of what I was going through. Three of you..........

I'm about to have to lay down for a while, but I'll get back into the swing of things over the next few days. So much goes on in the world and I can count on the'Cat to care. Thanks for keeping the litter box up katlaughing...now just move your ass over and let me sit down with you so I can decide where to start spreadin' it first!!!

I can only end by saying I am honored to have your friendship and your love and to be a part of Mudcat. I can never repay what you have done for me and my family, but I will be here when needed for all of you too. I am honored and humbled to be part of this special little village, to be a Mudcatter. My love to all of you.

Oh, 'Spaw, you can have the whole damn box if ya want it! I can't see for sh*# anyway for the tears streaming down m'face!

You don't know how good it is to hear your "voice", again. I am honoured that it was in my birthday thread that you quoted the Bhagavid Gita, just went back and read it, again, today.

And, don't think that for one minute we are going to let up on all that we've been sending you; our Light, our Love, our Healing Energy is YOURS! Use it, use it, use it and keep well, dear one. (Okay, I drew the "be maudlin' card"). And, don't rush it!

Whew! Let's see....what else have I been wanting to tell you....oh, yeah! Rog almost got confused for Reg and almost ran off with the tiple band, but he only plays the doorknockers and they dind't have any as good as he's got at home*smile*; Rick has Duckboots in his garden and bed; Banjer's been acting like a seargent major organising and keeping up morale; us touchy feely types have been flooding everyone with sweetness and light; Mick has been running like a maniac being the glue what holds us together; Joe, Joe Offer, Ma'am, has been srcutinising the Rockies for a few weeks; Art got a spiffy tuneup, BillD & Ferrara were gone, too, with a sick 'pewter; AlistairUK has disappeared; and, and.....well, why spoil it for you? You'll just hafta read through the rest of the threads to get caught up!

WELCOME BACK, YAWL SET A SPELL!

Love you and my love to Karen, too,

katlaughing

Catspaw,
this was not the first thread I opened today. I first saw your post on the religious doorknocker thread. I read it and it took me about 10 sec to realise it was you in person, not someone else using your computer who had written that paragraph. I knew you couldn't and wouldn't sneak back in without commenting, but I loved reading that paragraph first for I then knew 'HEY, HE'S BACK' in a way that brought tears into my eyes: business, I mean pleasure, as usual.
So glad you're back, but take care.

Wolfgang

Hiya, 'Spaw,

Good to see you back in your litter box. I think we should take Bev Lawton's suggestion and officially set the date (and time) when we don't have to be nice to you, but just take you as you are. Then you'll *really* know you are back home.

At the moment we're fussing and fretting over you like you were a welcome stranger, but I reckon if we start getting back to our normal 'Catty selves again you'll feel a whole lot less like a stranger, and just slip back into being just another one of us. *big grin*

I've missed you, and worried over you, and booked my keyboard in for a rustproofing job to counteract the effects of crying all over it, and it seems like the longest 3 weeks I've had to endure for a very long time. So I can only imagine what Karen, Clarence, the boys, Wayne & Connie etc have been feeling.

So, rest up those keyboard fingers, give your brain a chance to rest and think up lots of those witty retorts you're famous for, and just get back to normal (however "normal" is defined in catspaw-land.

Love Helen

Same as Wolfgang I first read your post in the religious doorknocker thread and it also took me some seconds to realize it was you yourself!
It is really great to have you back here, but please take it slowly so we can have you here for a long time and don't have to start BS threads like "Hospital again"!

'Paw, good to have you back - a great way to start this rainy Scottish morning, and a big thank you to you too. We all kinda knew this was a special place anyway, but your going off sick like that brought it home to all of us how much Mudcat really is a community. Helluva drastic way to get your point across though, wasn't it?? But perhaps not untypical....!

Love you all loads

'Spaw, I always figure there is a piece of gold in a pile of shit. In this case it was certainly quite a pile, and we're all so thankful to our own higher powers that you are on the mend. The whole ordeal has, as you say, brought home the point of what an incredible place the 'cat is - a little neighborhood bar shared by all the world. It is definitely unique. We have also come to love Karen and Clarence and Connie and Wayne - truly wonderful folks who are so important to your recovery. We are blessed to know them as well. So, keep up the good work, and here is a little more love and prayer coming your way to keep you off that catwalk and on the straight and narrow path to recovery. Godspeed.

Dear Catspaw,
through this scary experience of your illness, I have been inspired by the strength of your family and also by the power of all of us 'strangers' around the world who have been so deeply touched by what you have gone through. It made me realize how isolated I am, I thought, 'who would even know to tell the Mudcat if I was in the hospital'... I think I am not alone in realizing how strongly you are 'connected' to many people, both your family and friends, and those of us cyber folkies who join with you here on Max's creation.
Relieved to have you back.

You don't know me very well, but I wanted you to know that the love, warmth, and caring that I saw extended to you was one of the things that made me instantly fall in love with the people of this site. Hi son in law: Man am I glad that you are home. I signed on before you last night so didn't see your message until today. Take REALLY GREAT care of you and I will see you on June fourth. The good news is that you are home and the bad news is that your maw-in-law is coming for a visit. Do you suppose that Cletus will find the place by then? Sounds like it could be a possibility since he has already hit every other place and surely must be about to stumble across your place before too much longer. Kiss the kids, hug the wife, and kick the cats (the fuzzy ones not the mud ones) and I will see you soon. Love......Clarence

Alice,

I'm a bit worried now. Do you think that we are all just a part of Max's creation? A figment of his imagination? You know the old saying, are we humans dreaming about God, or is it that God is dreaming about us?

Does this mean that Max is really God?

I feel like Tron, in the movie - i.e. just a creation of the software programmer (who then gets sucked down into his own cyber world).

aaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggghhhhhhh!!! Where am I? Who am I?
