Subject: RE: Adam McNaughton/McNaughtan From: GUEST Date: 24 Aug 07 - 03:34 AM Adam has an album out on Greentrax entitled 'Last Stand at Mount Florida' - was on cassette and sold off some time ago by 'The Living Tradition' magazine at a half nothing price - worth having for his 'Cholesterol' song alone; don't know if it was transferred to CD. He sings regularly with the group Glasgow-based' group Stramash' along with two other fine singers, Scot, Bob Blair and N. Ireland, Kevin Mitchell. Jim Carroll |

Subject: RE: Adam McNaughton/McNaughtan From: GRex Date: 24 Aug 07 - 04:13 AM I knew both Adam McNaughtan and Kevin Michell when I lived in the Glasgow area, two great voices. Travelled around the clubs with them and some members of The Cluther, in what became (jokingly) called the Adam McNaughtan Road Show. I think that they allowed me to join them, as I was the one with transport. Don't know Bob Blair but I would certainly like to hear their band. Some of my favourites of Adam's songs are: Heights of Starvation (Skyscraper Wains/Jelly Piece Song) Where is the Glasgow Yellow on the Broom Happy listening, GRex |

Subject: RE: Adam McNaughton/McNaughtan From: Charley Noble Date: 24 Aug 07 - 09:02 AM Eric- Indeed, ' Oor Hamlet' is a killer! Charley Noble |

Subject: RE: Adam McNaughton/McNaughtan From: Scotus Date: 24 Aug 07 - 09:51 AM He also has a variant of the Cholesterol theme called 'Airchie Cathcairt' which is just as funny - I'd tell you why but it would spoil the ending. Jack |

Subject: RE: Adam McNaughton/McNaughtan From: Tattie Bogle Date: 24 Aug 07 - 10:13 AM Also recommended listening is his double CD "The Words I used to know" availble from Greentrax recordings (www.greentrax.com) on CDTRAX 195D: I think they also do "Last Stand at Mt Florida" as a CD. He hosted the Greentrax anniversary concert last year and made up something hilarious for just about everyone in the show, and also split the audience into Montagues and Capulets for his version of "Romeo and Juliet"! And yes please to the songbook idea! TB |

Subject: RE: Adam McNaughton/McNaughtan From: GUEST,Auldtimer Date: 24 Aug 07 - 12:46 PM Something rings a bell about a book from Adam or a book including songs from Adam some years ago. Saw Adam at Marymass on Wed. as well, the wee hall was fair packed oot. I enjoyed Archie Fisher as well and he looked ten years younger that when I saw him yast year in Edinburgh. |

Subject: RE: Adam McNaughton/McNaughtan From: dick greenhaus Date: 24 Aug 07 - 12:53 PM Both "Words I Used To Know" and "Last Stand at Mt. Florida" are current and available at CAMSCO Music. Of course. |
