Please join me in welcoming firemonkey to Mudcat.

Firemonkey's been sharing children's rhymes & songs she remembers from Southern California on the thread.cfm?threadid=81350&messages=197 "I'm Rubber Your Glue Children's Rhymes" thread since December 31, 2006.

I'm glad she finally took the plunge. Now we'll see how well she's learned the super duper Mudcat signal call.

What??!!

There's no super duper Mudcat signal call? Gee, I must be hearing things. It sounded like "Yabba Dappa Doo" to me...

Oh well, Mudcat has no secret signal call and I bet there's no secret handshake either. Still, Mudcat's a great group to belong to.

Welcome aboard, firemonkey!

Share! Learn! and Enjoy!

Welcome to the Wondeful World of Mudcat!

By Walter De La Mare (1873-1958)
From THE THREE MULLA-MULGARS, by Walter De La Mare, Duckworth & Co, London, ©1910.

Mulla-Mulgars' Journey Song

That one, alone,
Who's dared and gone
To seek the Magic Wonderstone,
No fear, or care,
Or black despair
Shall heed until his journey's done.

Who knows, where grows
The Mulgars' rose,
In valleys 'neath unmelting snows –
All secrets, he
Shall pierce and see,
And walk unharmed where'er he goes.

Cheerily,
Charley Noble

That poem's great, Charley! Thanks for sharing it!

**

And speaking of sharing-

Did Rapaire just do a no no?
Ho! Ho! Ho!
and a bottle of coca cola *

*Alcoholic drinkers may want to substitute rum or the liquor of their choice

**

Just in case Firemonkey or other relative newbies may be clueless about this:

Most groups have words and phrases and acronyms and "in jokes" that are unique to that particular group. One such "in" acronym at Mudcat is "MOAB".

MOAB stands for-"The Mother Of All BS Threads"

Here's a "blue clicky" for that "thread":

thread.cfm?threadid=59418

Warning- That mother is VERY HUGE!!!!

I have been here for years and had no idea what MOAB meant. Thanks for joining Firemonkey. A mystery cleared.

Hello there Newbee. Welcome. Love your Mud name. In Chinese Astrology the Fire Monkey is described as - bossy, lively, creative and motivated by rivalry.
The Fire Monkey Year is 12 Feb 1956 to 30 Jan 1957

I, for one, would be interested to know the story behind your Mud name?
Have loads of fun on the Cat Firemonkey. Why?.... because you can...!
Jude

Jings Mary, all my years here and I always thought that MOAB was a thread about Lot's son and the reason that the thread was so big was because a large number of Moabite descendants were Mudcat members. Well there you go. Had me fooled...*smile*
