Thread Name: Back of Bus Songs
Subject: Lyr Add: THE CLEAN SONG
There is one which is called THE CLEAN SONG somewhere I think in DT. The version I know until just near the end goes. The Tune is "Willikins and Dinah."

There once was a sailor who sat on a rock,
Shaking his fist and abusing his
Neighbouring farmer, whilst minding his ricks,
And teaching his children to play with their
Kites and their marbles, and need I say more?
When along come a woman who looked like a
Decent young lady. She walked like a duck.
She said she was learning a new way to
Bring up her children, and teach them to knit,
While the boys in the farmyard were shoveling the
Contents of the pigsty, the muck and the mire,
While the lord of the manor was pulling his
Horse from the stable to go for the hunt,
While his wife in her boudoir was powdering her
Nose and arranging her vanity box,
Taking good care to ward off the
Carlton rheumatics by changing her socks.
[Then the bit I forget, hope someone can fill it in.]
Oh, what did you think I was going to say?
Oh, you dirty young bugger! That's all for today.
