Thread Name: BS: Where are we now?
Subject: RE: BS: Where are we now?
If Ronald didn't take on the Air Traffic Controllers to bust that union, he surely did it because, since they were a wimpy white collar union, he was pretty damn sure they'd never find the wherewith-all to effectively mount a proper response. Not being street fighters, they didn't have a clue!

Again, I will say again that it was this small symbolic thread being snagged that started the big tapestry that was the labor movement in the U.S.A. to begin to unravel.

Of course, there are many factors in this unravelling. The above, combined with shipping a large chunk of the previously union jobs over yonder, automatically caused a diminishing of unions solidarity and power. Obviously, any union need jobs in place to exist.

The immigrants could, if things go wrong--or right (depending on your point of view), be a new grass roots form of Labor Union that will make organized labor look like an outdated group of pikers. ---- And it is NOT a matter of what is LEGAL (or illegal); it is simply a matter of what is right and wrong.
