Thread Name: Lyr Req: Heart of My Heart
Subject: ADD: The Story of the Rose (Heart of My Heart)
There's sheet music for "The Story of a Rose (Heart of my Heart)" at the Levy Sheet Music Collection, but I'm too lazy to transcribe this evening. Apparently, this is a barbershop quarted standard. I think I've heard barbershoppers do it. had these lyrics:

The Story Of The Rose (Heart Of My Heart)

A youth one day in a garden fair
A rose found withered and dying,
And all for love, ah! love in vain
This rose was sadly sighing.:

Heart of my heart, I love you,
Life would be naught without you;
Light of my life, my darling,
I love you, I love you.
I can forget you never,
From you I ne'er can sever.
Say you'll be mine for ever,
I love you.

verse 2:
Oh, sweet wild rose of a summer day,
Thy love has all been in vain;
Loved by a maid, then cast away,
I echo thy refrain.

Music by Andrew Mack

This Page (click) has some interesting information about the "Original" Heart of My Heart.

Now, if somebody would like to transcribe the lyrics from Levy, that would be really nice. A tune would be nice, too. You can e-mail MIDI files to me for posting:
