Hi, Don:

I just wanted to add my appreciation for your postings. I really enjoy your description of your life. You've had a lot of fascinating experiences, and I respect you for all that you've accomplished. I too predate the folk scare, but not as much as you, in part because I didn't live in a large urban area where I could hear the music. I'd been playing guitar for four or five years before I actually saw anyone playing one, other than a brief five or six weeks of lessons I took. The first time I heard someone play acoustic guitar was when I heard Marshall Brickman backing Leon Bibb at a little restaurant in Madison, Wisconsin in the late 50's. I was fortunate to hear a lot of musicians from 1960-64 when I lived in New York City, and will always be thankful that I did... the new singer songwriters, and the old traditional musicians who had a brief taste of recognition on the coat tails of the Kingston Trio, Peter Paul and Mary and the rest.

It's good to look back. And even better to look forward..

Jerry
