Blues=Life Coffee House: How to Quiet Audience? (87* d) RE: Coffee House: How to Quiet Audience? 03 Apr 03

How to control a trouble maker in the audience?

The Blues=Life method.

Be Large.(At 6'4" and 230 pounds, it's hard to ignore me.)

Stand VERY close to troublemaker. (Objects in mirror look a whole lot bigger when they're within 5 inches of your nose)

Talk quietly. (When presented with a very large, very close, and very quiet person, people tend to get quieter.)

Follow the RoadHouse rules of bouncing. (Expect the unexpected; Take it outside; Be NICE)

If alcohol is involved, be ready to jab them in a soft place. (A drunk asshole is a drunk asshole...sometimes there's not much else you can do.)

And finally, if it looks like it's going to get ugly, put your accoustic away and pick up a good, cheap, solid-body guitar. (Hitting someone in the chops with a Martin breaks the Martin. Hitting someone in the chops with a Telecaster breaks the chops.)

Remember all possible details, stories like that are worth re-telling!*G*

Good luck, Bobert. Wish I could come and see the show!
