GUEST,Midchuck on downstairs computer WOODCHUCK ALERT: I-90 & I-94 July & Aug (29) WOODCHUCK ALERT: I-90 & I-94 July & Aug 10 Jul 02

Assuming no unpleasant surprises between now and then, Cady, Cady, and Morse, d/b/a Woodchucks' Revenge, will be playing a set at the Sweet Pea Festival in Bozeman, Montana, on Sunday, August 4.

Since we are located in Vermont, this gig will require us to travel to Montana and back. We thought for a few minutes about flying, then decided to take the time and have a Grand Adventure, instead.

We plan to drive out from Tuesday, 7/30, through Friday, 8/2, and back Tuesday, 8/6 through Friday, 8/10. On the trip out, we'll be taking two vehicles, the Woodchuck minivan and Kris's mother's New Beetle, which she is selling to Andrea (her granddaughter), and which we get to do the honors of delivering.

We'd like to see some new country, and to avoid Chicago and environs if at all possible. Tentative route for the trip out is I-90 across New York and the top of PA and Ohio; turning north around Toledo and northwest in Michigan to Lansing for a second visitation to Elderly Instruments, leaving our credit cards locked in the car (fat chance!); then straight north to the Mackinac bridge, and west across the Yoop on US 2; across Wisconsin on, perhaps, US 8, and pick up I-94 across Minnesota, N. Dak., and Montana to I-90. Coming back, with only one vehicle and a lot less stuff for the Customs people to look at, we may retrace our steps as far as the Yoop, but cross into Canada at Sault St. Marie, and follow Canada rt. 17 to the Montreal area, and down into VT from there.

We would love to hear from interested parties along the above routes, with regard to:

- Possibilities for coffeehouse or house concerts on route to help defray expenses. Let me know if you want a demo CD before you decide it that's something you want to risk.

- People who have couch space for three bodies, two of them ugly (and who have no in-house dogs - one of us is allergic). We'll have our own sleeping bags, of course. We can swap an infliction on you of an open practice session; and a CD or two, of course. Even buy the pizza (and beer if desired) for all. It's still cheaper than a motel.

- Advice as to problems we might encounter, or attractions we might want to take time to see, along those routes.

Thanks,

Peter.
