GUEST,jonesey Peavey Guitars (12) RE: Peavey Guitars 21 Apr 02

The electrics I've found to be adequate to excellent. Just about like the 'pacific rim' knockoffs. Though at this point I'd venture Aria, Alvarez, and Ibanez have been in the market place long enough to no longer be considered 'knock offs' in the negative sense, but that's another thread. Haven't tried their acoustics as I'm 'really' fussy about 'my baby'. Been in love with the sound of the acoustic guitar for years and take great offense to mediocrity. When an acoustic 'looks' like a cheapo I wont even pull it off the wall. Have a Peavey Dual 212, 130 watts w/bookmatched tubes and other than weighing about 200 lbs. this thing is a 'hoss'. I'm not 'crazy' about the distortion channel, but clean this is the best sounding amp(of the 'twin' configuations)I've ever heard. It's got a tube pre-amp which sets it apart from most modern designs. I use it for elec., acous., mando, and banjo so it's got to be versatile and it is. If you find one and can get it cheap have a flight case built for it w/casters because otherwise you're going to pay the chiropractor, I guarantee it!
