GUEST,jonesey Name Our Band! (33) RE: Name Our Band! 11 Apr 02

Hi Susan-Marie, Please, take it! Seems there is/was a 'Spancil Hill' already.(see the 'Where is Spancil Hill?' thread floating around)from New England. While not getting out of the Celtic Music business I 'am' moving to Nashville to pursue my career as a songwriter and wont really need the name, so feel free with my blessing. I'm always coming up with names for projects in which I get involved...some only lasting for 1 performance. Here's a list of some rather dubious ones 'Folkadelic'(funk drummer, bass, acoustic guitar, banjo)we did a funny version of Cream's 'Sunshine of Your Love' with the banjo playing straight bluegrass over P/Funk groove. The drummer had toured with James Brown so you can imagine... 'Cowboy James and the Soul Patrol'(same band...different name) 'Fred Zeppelin'(bluegrass covers of Led Zeppelin songs long before the current pretenders) A friend of mine and I in 1974 used to do a bluegrass version of 'Good Times, Bad Times' with guitar and mando. We called ourselves F.Z. at parties. Currently I've got a party band with my 2 nephews called 'The Fabulous Saddleblasters'(mando, guit.,snare w/brushes)we do covers of some Green Day songs along with other mish mash oldies and country classics...it's really a fun thing. Ok, sorry to have digressed, but you got me thinking...good luck!!
