I got to interview him about ten years ago when he opened a gallery in Santa Fe, N.M. We talked for about two hours. He was absolutely delightful. Said I was the second best interviewer he'd ever had -- and he married the first one. He drew me a little sketch of Pepe le Pew on a piece of notebook paper that said, "J'taime, K.C. Amor, Pepe" which I still have in my "to be framed" folder in my file drawer. he was just as great and funny and ordinary and kind and outrageous as you'd imagine.
