O'Boyle Emigration (3) RE: Emigration 08 Mar 99

Driscoll, and any one else who cares, Here are the chords I use for the song. I first learned the song off of a jukebox, so the chords are approximate. The key is up to you. The version I heard was yy the Fureys and the song according to Driscoll was written by Dave Furey.

(Bm)I walk through the (A)city a (G)stran-(D)ger
(C)In a land I can (G)never call (D)home(A)
(Bm)And I curse the sad (A)notion that (G)caused (D)me
(Bm)In search of my (D)fortune to (A)roam
(Bm)I'm weary of (A)work and hard (G)drink-(D)ing
(C)And a week's wages (G)left in a (D)bar(A)
(Bm)And God it's a (A)shame to use a (G)friend's (D)name
(Bm)Just to beg for the (D)price of a (A)jar

(Bm)I remember that (A)bright April (G)morn-(D)ing,
(C)When I left home to (G)travel (D)a-(A)far
(Bm)But to work till you're (A)dead for one (G)room and a (D)bed
(G)Is not the reason I (A)left Mullin-(D)gar
