I'm your typical dumb strong stuborn male who doesn't go to the doctor right away. See if it goes away in a few days, yeah right, I waited a couple of months. I had chest pains, most of the time, all over the chest, high low left right middle strong mild, you name it. After eating it would go away for awhile and come right back. Ok, I got smarter somehow, not wanting to live with it any longer, and wanting to live period.
The doctor checked me out and treated me for acid reflux while waiting for the blood tests and chest xrays. In three days I started feeling better and when I went back to the doctor for the recheck in two weeks I was 80-90% better. I was amazed. As I understand it the esophagus gets inflamed by the stomach acid and is very slow to heal, and can not heal with the stomach acting up. It has been about 10 weeks and I'm experimenting skipping the pills to see if I need them anymore. The chest pains had nothing to do with the heart.
One problem leads to others.
The chest xray showed problems relating to smoking (early COPD) and the only reason it was caught was I had a three year old chest xray on file. Comparing the two was the only way to tell. I have to quit smoking, yeah I'm dumb.
The blood test showed an inflamed liver. I haven't had any alcohol since. Retesting ongoing.
Chears to all of us living, Roy
