For anybody interested; I've just completed a far-too-long article on local song-making over the last century and a half in County Clare - title 'Breaking Wind in Church'
It includes the texts of 22 of these from our own collection, most of these can be listened to on the Clare County Library website
This is the third of what I hope to be a series of articles on traditional singing; the first two were on Walter Pardon and Ballad seller, singer and storyteller, Mikeen McCarthy, a Traveller from Kerry
They are all available for download on the Academia site - limited free membership - otherwise, I'll send copies to anybody who wants them.
Copies of the recorded examples of all three also up for grabs on request
