We just survived another Canada Day celebration here. July 1st. It happens only once a year, and it involves fireworks, parades, lots of flag waving, lots of photo ops for politicians, and a lot of patriotic Hoo-Hah.....though not nearly as much as what you poor Americans have to put up with only 3 days later! Yes, you have my sympathy. "It was pretty flippin' good, eh?" (to quote Shane)
