Before starting this thread, noted numerous hits on Angela Carter (1940-1992) in other Mudcat threads, worth taking a look. If you are interested in folk tales/fables a collection of her reimaging of the Brothers Grimm will be found in the collection THE BLOODY CHAMBER. Years ago I read and enjoyed much of her fiction (short stories and novels), missed her non-fiction work (reviews of books records concerts & film , essays etc.. Recently came upon a collection of the non-fiction work: SHAKING A LEG Collected Journalism and Writings (VINTAGE pb) Among them, the following music related essays should interest MUDCAT folks: Now is the Time for Singing (Nonesuch Magazine 1964) Bob Dylan on Tour (London Magazine, 1966) A Busker - Retired (New Society, 1967) The Good Old Songs (New Society, 1968) Does anyone know if the 1st item above is available online ?? I would like to be able to point other friends to this. Perhaps other readers of Carter can suggest other of her music related essays ?? Thanks, Thomas.
