I've just bought a 22 year-old Lowden for a quarter of the price of an equivalent, new Martin. And traded a modern Martin OMCP model in PX for the Lowden. A very guitar experienced friend of mine came down to see and play it on Friday - he emailed me this morning to say that, on reflection, it's the best acoustic guitar he's ever played in 50+ years of playing (he also owns several Martins). Not knocking Martins - just saying keep a keen eye out for other options...
