After much soul-searching I have reluctantly decided to sell my beloved Fylde Touchstone Arch-Top Cittern as, following my hand injury, I've hardly played it in the last two years. It has a solid Honduras mahogany back and sides, a cedar top (for added mellowness instead of the usual spruce one), mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and Gotoh tuners. Even by Fylde's high standards, this is a truly superb-sounding instrument that has mellowed even more over the years; I bought it on a whim after playing it at Whitby Folk Festival in 2007 and everyone who hears it says how well it sounds. Shortly after I bought it I had a Headway Snake under-saddle pick-up professionally fitted by Hobgoblin Music in Leeds, who also fitted a clear plastic pick-guard. There are one or two very small dings in the cedar face but they can only be seen when the light is in a certain direction and you look really closely. Other than that it is in mint condition. It comes with a TGI padded gig bag and, because one of the strings has broken, I'll included a new set of strings. If you have any questions or want to see photos, just PM me or email me on peteratwressle@aol.com - or you can come and play it I'm ten minutes from Junction 37 of the M62. This instrument, if you include the cost of the pick-up, would cost around 2000 today (look on the Fylde website) and I'm asking 1200 (courier delivery will be charged at cost).
