Gda Music Lyr Req: Hurricane songs (60* d) RE: Lyr Req: Hurricane songs 14 Mar 17

"A disastrous Caribbean hurricane caught up with the island of Grenada in the early hours of September 23rd 1955. During that following week, the deadly storm claimed 137 lives and laid waste to much of Grenada and Carriacou. Lord Melody of course hits all the right notes with his rendition relating to that tragic period of history.    (unfortunately not the best sound transfer & no tape details)".

Grenada Hurricane -- *Janet* -- 23 September 1955

Janet I beg you hard
Janet not Trinidad
Janet I beg you hard
Janet not Trinidad

You blow way the whole of Grenada
Then came the Barbadian supper
Every day lady came enough to make
A man jump out he shoes

Janet hide in the mountain
Janet lick down a million building
Janet sister was Katie
Janet blow way the whole of Miami

The description they publish here
They said Janet had silky hair
About 6 foot the papers said September the 28th
So then Janet visit Grenada
Oh Lord poor people suffer
Blow down the place like a pasture
And all the reading in the papers over here

Janet hide in the mountain
Janet lick down a million buildings
Janet sister was Katie
Janet blow way the whole of Miami

In St Vincent when Janet raid
So help me I was afraid
I hear she blow down a concrete wall
And Papa that wasn`t all
I don't ramajay if you see how St Vincent break away
And all the buildings over here on the papers
Katie will move Janet from the area

Janet hide in the mountain
Janet lick down a million buildings
Janet sister was Katie
Janet blow way the whole of Miami
