GUEST,Charley Lyr Req: Side by Side (Parody) (20) RE: Lyr Req: Side by Side (Parody) 14 Jan 12

The version I learned in the late sixties was from the Scottish folk singers The Corries:

We go married on Friday,
The Vicar said it was my day,
When they were gone
And we were alone,
Side By Side.

We got ready for bed then,
I nearly dropped dead when
Her false teeth and hair
She laid on the chair,
Side By Side.

The to my amazement,
Her little glass eyes so small,
Her arms and legs beside them,
She laid on the chair by the wall...

Now my baby and me we are parted,
And when we'd only just started,
I sleep on the chair,
('cause there's more of her there),
Side By Side.
