Frank in the swamps Any rude/dirty lyrics to any folk tunes? (25) Lyr Add: BLACK EYED SUZIE 28 Jun 98

I'm blasting the forum with a pretty comprehensive volley of The Holy Modal Rounders this morning, 'cuz it all seems to fit. This is what I remember of their rendition of "Black Eyed Suzie. I don't have a turntable, so I can't check the old vinyl discs, but here goes...

My pretty little Suzie's just half grown,
Jumps on a man like a dog on a bone,

[CHORUS] Hey, black-eyed Suzie, hey, pretty little black-eyed Suzie,
Hey, black-eyed Suzie, Hey.

I gave your little brother a big silver dollar.
If he sees your daddy comin' he'll let out a holler. [CHOR.]

Your momma she's gonna tan your hide.
Your daddy's gonna hunt me, dead or alive. [CHOR.]

Now comes the real dirty verse. If you've never heard this recording, it's hard to describe how funny it really is. On the printed page (or monitor) it looks simply puerile, but it is sung so that it sounds like all nonsense syllables. I had this record for years before it hit me what they were saying....

TheonlythingIliketodobetterthanmydoodlingispokemyheadbetweenherlegsanddoalittleyodeling.

Hey, black-eyed Suzie, Hey, pretty little black-eyed Suzie,
Hey, black-eyed Suzie, Hey!
