Chicago. Do yourself favor and go. Get in contact w/t Old Town School Of Folk Music and they'll put you on to clubs to go to in addtion to the concert(s). It's the real deal. One experience if I may. Most of the known stars played clubs regularly in the 70s when I lived there. On an open stage/blues jam night I found myself playing bass in a pick-up band w/Buddy Guy who was a local act at the time. Anyway, I was a little full of myself and thought I was 'Chris Squire'. Hundreds of unnecessary notes w/t treble pot wide open. Finally, Buddy turns around and says, "M**********r, if you don't slow down and put some bass on that amp I'm gonna yank that treble pot out and shove it up your a**!! You got a death wish or somethin'?" Then he bought me a shot and a beer after the set. He said when the bartender brought me my drink, "You bad, man but you don't know s***. Learn somethin' an' you'll be all right." Last time I spoke with him. Hope he lives forever.
