PeadarOfPortsmouth BS: What Have You Learned From Mudcat? (80* d) RE: BS: What Have You Learned From Mudcat? 11 Feb 08

I have learned...
* an incredible amount of history about the songs I heard growing up
* how to be a better singer, storyteller and musician (thanks)
* that most Mudcatters are a fun-loving bunch of people with whom I'd gladly share a pint (anytime, really!)
* that the VAST majority of Mudcatters are supportive to newcomers to the tradition (thanks again)
* that some Mudcatters are self-righteous folk snobs who only seem to log-on in order to validate their self-worth (bugger off, the quicker the better)

But the most shocking thing I've learned is this:
* NO ONE CAN AGREE ON WHAT FOLK MUSIC IS!
