I would give a vote "There Were Roses", since always captured my hope that the people would find common ground and end the violence.

HOWEVER...(and I hesitate to go here, 'cuz I really don't want to turn this into a flame thread)...

If you are asking songs that serve as a historical record of 1969 through the Good Friday Agreement, I'm curious where a song like "90 Miles to Dublin" might fit in. (Written by someone in H block; describes conditions and reasons for the blanket protests; etc.)

Maybe there are similar songs from the loyalist side I'm not familiar with, but this one leaps out to me as a good historical record from one side of the conflict.
