Nom de jieux, Flora (There's a bit of true Acadian for you), I wish I'd seen this yesterday. CB separatism is one the oldest separatist movements in the country. While Quebec's main goal in 1867 was to stave off assimilation and ensure the preservation of its language and culture, Nova Scotia immediately petitioned Queen Victoria to leave confederation on the grounds that the Nova Scotia government has entered Confederation against the expressed wishes of the general population. Vicky, God Bless her foreign heart, refused the petition. The good burghers of Halifax then began a movement to annex Cape Breton then a self-sufficient eonomic centre. Just as Nova Scotia blames confederation for its decline, Cape Breton blames Halifax. Coincidental? I think not. Capers of the world, unite. Throw your support behind General John Cabot Trail, the distinguished leader of the Caper Breton Liberation Party. It's high time his years of toiling in the trenches pay off.

Bob
