I tried to stay away but I fear the topic has fundamentally changed. Carol has now made the issue about language and meaning. I think the problem is that many on the left confuse words for meaning. The meaning is important not the words. You can change the words all you want the meaning is the point. It was accurately pointed out that nigger/z is meant by different people to mean different things. Think of the evolution of what we call black people. It doesn't matter whether you call someone negro, black, african american or even nigger. What matters is the intention behind the words. If you want to change what is 'acceptable' to call someone feel free. It will not change the meaning. All you have done is created an artificial impediment to positive race relations.
