I'm an idea man, not an entrepreneur, but here's something that will one of you rich!

A small electronic gadget that, at the push of a button, produces a laugh track a la TV. How about several buttons for varying laughs from chuckles and guffaws to side splitters. Get off your witticism, push the appropruate button and watch the check out kid break up.

Actually I think there is a gadget like that; I recall a friend playing one without even a joke to justify it, and after a minute or so, it was impossible not to laugh along.

But seriously (I was just about to start another thread) I need a new, good, not-too-subtle clean joke or story to warm up the crowd when I MC my Lions Club's annual Dinner-Dance in a couple of weeks. I'm afraid most of the crowd may be Kendall's checkout clerks. and parochially NY suburban, so regional humor is out.

Any contributions will be welcome and given fair audition. As an example, the last time I had this job I used the story about the woman who was advised by the marriage counselor to ease tension by running ten miles each day, and to call next week to report the efectiveness of the program.

When she called in seven days later and was asked how she was getting along with her husband that day, she said, "Fine; I'm seventy miles away!" That went over pretty well. (Push the button on the laugh track gadget, someone, please.)
