GUEST,Steve Latimer Review: Me and Mr. Johnson (Eric Clapton) (25) RE: Review: Me and Mr. Johnson (Eric Clapton) 05 Apr 04

Clapton drives me crazy. His stuff with Cream and Derek and the Dominoes was grondbreaking, energetic, electric. I found a lot of his later stuff to be very lame, but then he would do something to floor me. His bluesy cover of "Don't Think Twice, It's Allright" and the Dylan 30th Anniversary concert is a case in point. Absolutely magical. I enjoyed a lot of "From The Cradle" and "Unplugged" (although I could live my life quite happily if I never heard the acoustic "Layla" again. I guess my frustration is that he still has it, you just never know when he is going to use it.
